Read moreKim House at Gold Star Mortgage is absolutely fantastic!!!
We were first time home buyers working through the MSHDA program, so we needed a lot of extra assistance and for Kim to go over each part of the process with us. We picked her initially to be our lender because of her other great reviews, and because she was the quickest to respond back to us.
Kim was very responsive throughout the entire process and answered all of our questions quickly, often within the same hour. She was very knowledgable of the MSHDA process and was able to guide us through without any sticking points or delays in the process. She communicated each step clearly so that we knew exactly what to expect and what the timeline was for each step. She made the entire process seem not only doable but easy!
Kim was super friendly and I felt comfortable asking her anything, even if I was afraid it was kind of a dumb question. She worked very well with our realtor and our insurance agent. She also went above and beyond frequently and always had our best interest at heart. Ours was not the largest sale ever made, but Kim treated us as her first priority at all times and really made us feel like we were important and a part of the team.
She has continued to be very thoughtful, kind and incredibly helpful even after we closed on our condo (and even months later). It really has been a dream working with her.
We highly...
Read moreGold Star Mortgage is quite possibly the worst mortgage company to deal with. The people that were supposed to buy our house were going through Gold Star. Matt was their lender. He was unprofessional, extremely difficult to get ahold of, and his arrogance got the best of him. When trying to escalate the issues through Gold Star, we continued to get the run around. And it took days to get a hold of someone. It was terrible! Gold Star needs to up their standards in whom they hire otherwise they will continue to lose deals. Matt was caught in a number of lies. He would say one thing and do another and continued to give the run around. Come to find out, it was because he made a very rookie mistake on the deal. The loan was submitted in the beginning of June and we had to extend three times. It was always “3-5 more days”. Not only did the buyers lose out, but because of the mistakes Matt made, it cost us A LOT of money. I will never work with Gold Star again. Once we started telling more people of our terrible experience with Gold Star, more and more people started telling us that they have had similar situations. If any sellers out there are presented with an offer with Gold Star as the lender, RUN. If you are a buyer looking for a lender- find someone other...
