Hyundai Asian Market — Local services in Ann Arbor

I only visit when I run out of something and I can't find the item at other Asian markets. I used to visit often, but their shelf rotations are off, so when you do shop here, check the expiration date on the items before you buy. I bought few items, came home and it had expired. While I hope this has changed, this is the main reason why I no longer shop here on a regular basis.

The other reason why I no longer visit - they used to bring in fresh seafood items on Fridays, but they no longer do that. I get lot of things changed, but I feel like that items they carry, I can find at Meijer, Kroger, Costco, Walmart and Chinese Markets, some times at a cheaper price.

My husband and I were so happy to discover this store! I finally checked it out and loved what I found! I agree with an older review below that says it’s better than Galleria and Hua Xing. It has way more options and even has fresh banchan (side dishes) like seasoned black beans and seaweed.

The owner was nice to me and I got to practice my Korean with her after living in Korea for a year.

The owner lady is super friendly and easy to talk to. They sell the freshest vegetables because they sell what they grow in their 5 acre farm. If you like Korean side dishes be sure to stop by to get your fill of home made side dishes! Oh and they make rice cakes for ddeokbokki in this store from scratch. Freshest rice cakes you can get in the area. If you've never tasted fresh rice cake that just came out, you're missing out. Ask the lady for when they produce it and come to try it fresh.
