The women in my family are hair freaks and they are all obsessed with my hair ever since I started going to Emily. I get compliments literally everywhere I go, from work to Miami, and it never stops. Let Emily cut/color your hair and just TRUST HER!
OKAY EVERYONE... I'm a woman in my late 20's and I will do everything I can to convince you that you have to go to Emily.
1st. My mom taught me to be obsessed with my hair. I'm not saying it's healthy, but I would travel hours to get my hair done because I didn't trust anyone with my hair. The costs eventually got too high when I moved further away and I looked all over Ann Arbor for someone to go to. It took me 3 people to find my hair soulmate. Trust me, I've shopped around.
SHE LISTENS!!!! I came to her as a hair color virgin. I was so nervous when I came to her for the first time. She walked me through everything and made me feel extremely comfortable. I had to put my complete trust in her and she nailed it.
Since I put my life in her hands and she made my hair color AMAZING, I immediately had full trust in her. Now I let her do whatever she wants and my hair comes out looking more amazing each time.
She's a therapist. I know not everyone wants to talk while they get their hair done, but if you like to talk, she truly is an amazing therapist. Hair therapy is real with her I promise.
My mom treats her hair like some women treat their skincare and she grew up teaching me the same. One of her favorite things to talk about is our hair and she will not stray away from telling me if she doesn't like my hair.
Not only is she obsessed with my hair, no matter what Emily does, but she will not stop talking about it. My grandma even jumped on the band wagon. I was sitting around the thanksgiving table while all the women in my family (ages 22 - 85) were obsessing over my hair.
I've been traveling a lot lately and, no matter where I go, I get compliments. Even from the women down in Miami who live in a completely different world of wealth and luxury.
Just go and see exactly what I'm talking about. You won't be sorry. I can't wait to see...
Read moreVery disappointing service. I went to the salon to get an Olaplex treatment for the first time. When I booked online, the service was advertised as a 30 minute appointment. When I got there, Grace informed me that she would be shampooing and conditioning my hair, applying two different products, and that I would need to sit under heat for 20 minutes and then 10 minutes. That alone told me it would be more than a 30 minute appointment, but I thought okay, maybe 45 mins to an hour. We started at 5:10, and by 6:00, my hair was done processing and I was waiting to be rinsed out. At that point, Grace came over to let me know that she was going to have me sit tight as she had another client, and one of her coworkers would come rinse my hair if she "didn't get done in time." So I thought hmm, okay, maybe another 5-10 minutes? As my stylist went off to cut someone else's hair, I sat there for the next thirty minutes just waiting to have my hair rinsed out. I was honestly considering asking if I could just go home and rinse it out myself. Finally, around 6:30, as Grace was finishing her other client's haircut, another stylist came to rinse my hair out. After, she asked if I wanted a blow out. Of course, I said no! Why on earth would I want to sit there for another 20-30 minutes letting them blow dry my hair after this awful experience? Finally, she took me up to check out and handed me back off to Grace, who was apparently new, because she could not figure out how to ring me up for payment. So there went another ten minutes wasted, just trying to pay for a horrible service and a bottle of shampoo and conditioner. Not once did an employee apologize for the amount of time I spent just waiting, or the terrible checkout experience. I did get a, "Thank you for being flexible with us," from the receptionist, but I certainly wasn't flexible by choice. I was so thoroughly put off by the whole hour and a half + ordeal that I did not even tip, which I have never once done for a...
Read moreI’ve been seeing Emily since she was at the Aveda Institute receiving her certification, and I have no plans on finding a different stylist any time soon! It is a unique experience having been a client of a stylist since their studies - I’ve been able to watch Emily grow into her profession and rapidly excel. When she graduated I followed her to her first professional position at another salon in A2, then followed her to Karin and Company where she performs her magic today.
From a quick trim to a color correction took literal hours (days before my wedding I might add), I have never once left Emily’s chair unhappy. Here are a few ‘highlights’ 😂 from my experiences: Grey coverage and balayage : I’ve been greying since I was 14, but a few years ago my grey started to really pop, especially around my hairline. Emily meticulously placed color in my requested balayage to give me a sophisticated and fresh color that lasted me for over a year.
Color Correction… days before my wedding: My sister gifted me a cut and color from her stylist, so I happily accepted… these are tough times people! I ‘couldn’t turn down a free service’. Man was I WRONG. My hair was brassy, the color was terribly choppy (which is opposite of what a balayage should be), the cut was uneven, and my hair felt stringy and oily only days after. My wedding was a week away and I was panicking. I reached out to Emily, sent her pictures, and she fit me into her schedule asap. I gave this poor girl a hot mess and she turned me into a goddess. Not only did she color corrected my hair beautifully, my hair felt healthier despite having two color treatments back to back in a week. The day of my wedding I received several compliments, including the stylist who did my wedding hair.
It has been a wonderful experience watching Emily grow into her career and rapidly excel. I won’t be seeing anyone else for my styling needs because I can count on Emily to perform magic every time I sit...
