Silk and Lace Bridal is THE place to go for your wedding dress needs!!
I’m on my third marriage - I had no desire for a traditional dress. It’s my fiancé’s first, however, so I wanted something special♥️
My sister and I were greeted at the door by Deb, the proprietor of the shop. I was nervous as I had never gone to a bridal shop before. My first wedding dress was purchased at Penney’s in 1993!!! Deb immediately made us feel welcome.
Silk and Lace has a warm, relaxing vibe. The bridal dresses are in the front, dresses for maids of honor and mom’s dresses in the back. As I was filling out my guest card, my sister made a bee-line to the back - in seconds she held up MY dress and I got CHILLS! It was perfect - a cinnamon colored, off the should gown with a matching scarf - $198!! What a deal.
I went to the dressing room, where Deb tacked me into the dress so I could see what it would look like. Afterwards, she took my measurements and showed them to me, along with the actual measurements for the dress for my true size - so I could see immediately how my dress would need to be altered to fit me like a glove!!
I paid half down to place the order, with the balance to be paid when the dress arrives.
The very best part - she does suits, too! Which took a big load off my mind. My fiancé opted to wear a charcoal gray suit - however, he’s a big boy (6’1, 340 lbs). Finding a suit off the rack would have been next to impossible! Deb assured me she had the right equipment to measure any size man or woman. So we will be making another purchase too!
They also have beautiful, crystal headbands - they were just gorgeous!!
I just had to hug her - I was in tears, so happy to be able to say YES to my dress!
Deb has been open for almost a year and a half - if you check out her reviews, you will find many happy customers.
You don’t have to take my word for it - if you are in the market for a dress for your first wedding or your fifth, Silk and Lace Bridal is the place to go! Tell her Theresa sent you!
Good luck and...
Read moreUPDATED REVIEW: I wish I could give Deb and her store 10 stars! I picked up my dress this morning, and of course Deb had it hanging in the dressing room waiting for me. She was more than happy to accommodate my company of my 6 nieces and nephews. She constantly reminded me of how beautiful and perfect my dress was on me. She snapped her own photos to have and you could tell her happiness about my dress was genuine. This bridal boutique is the best kept secret. She also has BEAUTIFUL MOB dresses and is getting bridesmaids dresses in soon. If you’re looking for a one of a kind wedding dress shopping experience , locally owned, this is it! Thank you so much Deb for giving me the dress and experienced I have always dreamed of!
Where to even start with this amazing place and amazing owner! From the second I walked into Silk and Lace I was immediately greeted by Deb. She explained the process of my appointment and made myself and my company truly feel like we were the most important people to her at the time! We had the entire store to ourselves and could try on any dress that was displayed. When I say Deb knows how to clip you in a dress, I mean she KNOWS how to clip you in and make you feel like the sample size dresses were made for you! Deb was more than understanding that I had another appointment elsewhere and gave me her personal number to call if I wanted to come back. Lo and behold, I called Deb after my second appointment because there was a dress at her store I just could not stop thinking about. She told me to absolutely come back and as soon as I walked in she told me “I have her hanging in the dressing room for you”. I knew the second I put that dress back on it was the one. Deb shared in all the smiles, happy tears, hugs and celebrating. She has the most beautiful collections of QUALITY dresses and she will make you feel so incredibly special picking out your dress!!! I could not recommend her store or her expertise enough!!! I can’t wait for my...
Read moreI said yes to the dress today at Silk & Lace Bridal! Let me tell you, I don't have enough space to type about how AMAZING Deb was. She should literally teach etiquette to all of the other bridal consultants at other shops.
I have been to a few bridal shops, Blush Bridal and In White, both in Lancaster. All of the dresses seemed very similar and there was no real wow factor.
When I made the appt today, I wasn't expecting an appointment because I called at 11 and she got me in for 4:30 when her shop closed at 5. She chose to stay and accommodate me as my wedding is 83 days away. Her kindness and brutally honest attitude made the appointment amazing, and I felt so comfortable with her. She was engaging, helpful, fun, positive, and just all-around fantastic customer service. I didn't feel rushed or like I had only a few options.
Her dresses are all so different and not like anything I would see anywhere else. Dresses for all types of shapes and sizes too. I'm tall and everywhere else I tried on I would have had to get my dress made longer, not this place!
I put this dress on, and I knew immediately it was the one! The only alterations I will need is to shorten the straps a bit, THAT'S IT! Most places you have to order the gown and wait awhile, Deb let me buy it directly off the rack. It was only in the shop a few weeks, brand new. The designers she has are over the top. Her pricing is lower than most with much better quality.
I'm beyond pleased and will refer everyone there! Deb, thank you so much, you're an amazing person!
oh, side note: ladies DO NOT wear Spanx or shapewear when going to try on gowns, learned this today from Deb, the dress lays completely different and better when that shapewear is off.
I will post another review after the wedding to see my...
