Rotunda Restaurant & Brewery — Restaurant in Annville

We're not from the area, but needed a place to eat after seeing a show at the Allen Theater, just down the road from the Rotunda Restaurant. I found this place using Google Maps. I'm happy to say that we were not disappointed. The food was terrific. We had the Crab Pretzel Braid appetizer. It was very yummy; my husband particularly liked it. My husband had the Southwest burger, which was huge. He said it was very tasty. I had the Fried Shrimp tacos, which were excellent. Lot's of Mango Salsa on them, which made them really pop! We shared the Creme Brulee dessert and it was fabulous. Maybe the best I've had in a long time. And a nice size portion, which is unusual for that treat. Our server, Connor, was wonderful. Very professional, friendly, polite, attentive and is an asset to the establishment. My only quibble, and why I gave 4 stars to "atmosphere," is that the bathroom in the Tiki Bar area is kind of run down and dingy looking. Not terrible, but not great. My main issue with that is that there was not a hook of any kind to hang my bag on while I used the facilities. Every bathroom, gendered or not, should have at least one hook! This was disappointing. We’ve been going to this place for about six years and always order the same appetizer to share because it is unbelievably delicious. I drive 8 hours to see family and always ask to come here. Great ambiance, decent service, good food, great beer selection. Tonight, unfortunately our favorite dish was chewy and way overly spiced. No big deal, it happens. We sent it back mentioning it was off tonight but that we know it is usually delicious. While waiting for our entrees a man claiming to be an owner came out and asked us “What is your problem”. We were pretty surprised by the tone and told him what we told the waitress. He responded that we “ate a couple pieces so clearly it was fine” and stormed away while knocking our belongings off the chair backs. Later he cornered my father near the bathroom and threatened to call the cops on him (for gently mentioning that that particular dish wasn’t right and that he figured it was just an accident) and told him he “didn’t know what f’ing good food was” (yes he cursed at a customer who wasn’t being nasty). Hello! We had our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding! It was highly recommended by our venue. We really enjoyed Rotunda the food was great and the atmosphere was nice. It was a Buffett style and we were able to select the food. We were able to take the leftover food home. Which was great I was glad we were able to! We got our own room which was nice. The price was reasonable it was lower in comparison to some other places! Our only complaint was that the restaurant only scheduled one waitress to do all of our drinks and the whole clean up. I thought this was ridiculous the restaurant should have staffed at least 2 people for a party of our size. Especially when we had made a reservation and we are paying that kind of money to book out the room and dine there. I could understand if we booked late but we had booked out months in advance! We had 36 people! The waitress did an amazing job it being just her. But drinks did take a while to order and get to us. She also did forgot some drinks. This is not her fault and entirely the restaurant’s it should not have been solely on her! Overall, we loved it here and recommend it to others to have their rehearsal dinner here.
