I’ve used Tahoe Ski Trips (formerly Bay Area Ski Bus) for almost a decade, but today will be my last trip with them. The ski bus is a safe way to ski one day during the weekend and avoid the expense of a hotel. At least for me, driving myself would be too much for a day trip, with 8 hrs on the road for six hours of skiing. The typcial ski bus experience went like this: get picked up by a commuter bus with a professional driver, get breakfast service, after skiing, have an apres ski with chili, hot dogs and beer, and be dropped off at home by 8:30pm. Convenient, comfy and fun. I’ve noticed a drop in quality over the years - pre-pandemic, you would get a continental breakfast and dinner service included. Post-pandemic, the food went away, so I packed my own food. However, the bus service was always great, they sourced professional drivers in clean, new buses. There was plenty of room on the bus to store all of your gear, the ride was smooth, the seats had fold out tables to put a tablet or food on, etc. The hosts would greet you on the bus and attend to any needs. This year is different. This morning I was picked up in a mini-bus that looks like it should be circling an airport to take you to the rental car lot. Skis are stored in an open trailer on the back of the bus, and boot bags are just kind of placed wherever. Critically, there’s no bathroom on this mini-bus, so now we have to stop for potty breaks (which for 30 people can take a while) and I have to manage my bladder. Pretty sure the driver is the owner, there are no hosts, and the back of the bus, where I’m seated, so bouncy its hard to drink anything. Thank God I don’t get carsick easily. This bus doesn’t feel like it was meant to take people on 4hr plus trips. I get that times are tough and competition is fierce; I don’t think Tahoe Ski Trips has raised prices in years. I just think this last round of cost cuts have lowered the value so much that I’ll be going with an alternative option or drive myself, even if I have to shell out money for a hotel. I’d rather pay more for a more comfortable bus than this current setup - I don’t think having bathroom access on a four hour bus ride each way is a luxury.

Came up to with the ski bus this weekend and it was a great experience. The bus is lux, the driver pretty top notch being able to get through the snow obstacles. The hotel we stayed at was central, roomy with a fireplace. At the resort, dropped us off at the top parking lot, had an awesome time on the slopes. Highly recommended!

I took a ski bus trip to Sierra last weekend and the trip was awesome. I have taken multiple ski bus trips, NAC Ski, BASB, Tahoe Ski Trips & SB Ski Bus. I find it troubling when Google reviews are both unfair and inaccurate.

The review Tom posted was inaccurate. I sat across from Tom on the bus. It was a smaller bus this time so it made the ride bumpier than the big bus. However, Tom doesn't mention that only 18 people were on that trip so of course the smaller bus it provided or it would have been cancelled because their were not enough people to use the big bus. I really wanted to go that day so I am thankful that it wasn't cancelled. Tom mentions the breakfast being offered was not good enough. I don't expect a full breakfast for the price we are paying. I was very happy with the two protein bars, hard boiled egg, 2 tangerines, trial mix, turkey jerky a juice and two waters.

I know there is less room on the small bus but there was plenty of room for everyone's bags inside the bus.

I appreciate a small local company trying their best to accommodate the skiing and snowboarding community. Thank you...

Wonderful experience! It was my second time took the bus with Tahoe Ski Trip. Last weekend we went to two days hotel trip. The host and the vibe were really nice! They ordered breakfast for your second day morning. Also offered snacks and water on the bus. You don’t need to worry about being left behind at the snow resorts. They always make sure everyone was on the bus before drove away. The customer service was even more impressive!! I left one of my luggage on the bus after the trip. I simply made a phone call to the office. Amanda was super patient and kind to me. She told me they will figure it out a way to deliver it to me. Even I offered that I could find time to pick it up if it’s too much works for them. They said they would like to do their best so they had one of the host James picking up my luggage from San Jose. And he delivered to Berkeley to me today with a big smile! Super awesome people! Highly...
