Food Lion — Local services in Apex

November 23 have to update change stars 5 to 3. this because they just put in a load of self checkouts. They also took away about 30% of their fresh meats and use that space to put wrapped delicatessen items in. This used to be such a great store with amazing prices, and now there’s no difference than any other supermarket . Truly sad to lose such a gem.

Earlier in 2023 * FIRST OF ALL - NO SELF CHECK OUTS! TY Food Lion full value in your customers and maintaining integrity. And I’ve never had to wait. They put cold stuff in blue bags so that you can easily divide your shopping when unpacking. I was told Food Lion’s aren’t that great. I’ve had the opposite experience. they beat all the competition hands down for the best produce in town. They also have prepared produce in small amounts at very reasonable prices. The bakery is expensive But if you’ve tried the sliced pumpkin cake you know why. I also think they have the best meat in town, no pork belly yet though. I save a lot more money in here than anywhere else. PRETTYMUCH, comparative to all the other like everywhere. Prices are creeping up. The free MVP card saves me 10-15% every time I shop, which is no small thing. My boyfriend and I decided to shop at our old local food lion last week. The store itself looked great we haven't been there in a while and the changes made are really nice. The problem came however when we were checking out. Our cashier was acting very strangly and made and my boyfriend super uncomfortable. She kept mumbling under her breath and asking weird questions at one point asking my boyfriend if he was my dad ( he is one year older than me and dosnt look that old) she even reached out to touch my breast while talking about my shirt I had to literally take a step back or she would have touched me.i never complain but it made me really uncomfortable won't be back after that bizarre experience. The whole time I thought she had some developmental issues and that's why I remained polite but looking back pretty sure she was high and not weed, my boyfriend was in shock and angry but didn't want to trigger my ptsd causing. A scene as he could tell I was at my limit and just wanted to leave. My interaction was not right I shouldn't feel unsafe...

Update: Finally went in around dinner time and they had food on the hot bar. And its actually good. Updating my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Thank you to whom it may concern in-store ❤️

What's the story with the prepared food department? The hot food bar which is 11a-2p and 4p-7p, and which I have been enjoying at several other locations without issues... the food was 90% empty and what was there was obviously left all day and not cleaned/rotated etc. (not edible). I waited until 4:15p to go in expecting a fresh lineup hoping my previous experience was just bad timing. This should be unacceptable, there appeared to be one young girl working the entire department and she didn't look like she knew anything about what to do.
