Decided to get back into bowling after 15 years, Went in to get my second ball from them. 1st time I was in to get a high-end ball and it appeared I was annoying the employee (heavy set guy) about all my questions on layout, so I just got a standard drill layout. 2nd time I went back (i was the only person in the shop) because they had the ball I wanted in stock. First thing I walked through the door, I got a sense the employee (same guy) was annoyed that I was there. Ask me what I want (appeared annoyed). I asked him about a ball and he started talking about how busy he was and this and that. Purchasing my second high-end ball, I wanted to layout the ball to how I throw and PAP. The employee appeared to be annoyed and stated the average bowler don't need PAP and it's more for Pro Bowlers. So I don't know why I did it, but I bought the ball and did a standard drill again because it appeared the employee was "too busy" to help. Thought my second experience would be better and the employee would be more willing to help, but seems like it was the same. I never return and they'll never get my business again. Will be finding a new pro shop that actually care, amateur or pro customers.
Maybe this is why many new people are reluctant to come to a pro shop because of the attitudes and bad vibes they get...
Read moreAmazing experience! I'm in a bowling league but never really put a lot of thought into my ball. I literally drove 20 minutes past my home lanes to get to Mike's shop. You do have to schedule an appointment for a free analysis, but Mike was happy to watch me throw shots for 15 minutes and he gave me some tips. Then he picked out a ball for me which I thought was perfect so I bought it on the spot. A little over one hour at the lanes and I had a 15 minute lesson and a brand new ball! Mike was so great and he's legit too! Mike is a highly experience professional bowler and coach at the U of MN. Trust me you want to head over to Mike's Pro Shop you will be glad you did. Best part, the price I got was only a few dollars more than online and I got to have all the fun of buying from a Minnesota...
Read moreWas referred to come here to get setup for a ball as I finally wanted to take the leap into throwing a hook.
Emailed Mike and got a quick response to come in at my convenience and he would gladly help.
Went in and met with Mike. He got me on a lane and watched me throw my straight ball a few times. He then had me throw a couple different balls while providing me some great advice on how to throw a hook.
Went inside the pro shop and he helped me pick out a ball without spending a fortune. Drilled on the spot and was out the door in a couple hours.
Mike's other staff on hand were also friendly and very helpful.
I would definitely recommend anyone to go there for a new ball, shoes,...
