Exceptional quality food, excellent service, and rich flavors define this new addition to the Arden Hills and North Roseville area. Perfectly prepared meat, flavorful sauces, and overarching high standards have quickly made this my go-to Thai restaurant after only a few trips. On my first trip, I had the pad thai. Everything about it was phenomenal, from the egg, noodles, and chicken all being perfectly cooked, to the sauce having staying power that isn't always present in lesser pad thai. On my second trip, I had the hot and spicy chicken, at their spice level 4/5. It was fantastically spicy, deserving of a 4 and not dulled down for stereotypical "minnesota spicy" levels, while still having rich flavor to the sauce. The vegetables were excellent, cooked to perfection with the rest of the dish. The star, however, was once again the chicken. Their chicken is practically buttery with how tender and juicy it is, while not having a single bit of hard, chewy, or otherwise missed bits of gristle during the butchering process. Whoever does their butcher work is an absolute pro and deserves all the praise in the world, and whoever ends up preparing it after the fact deserves the same praise for whatever they do to get the meat so heavenly. Additionally, the owner is a very friendly and personable guy, and was checking in with customers to see how we were doing, while the other staff on both occasions were knowledgeable and confident in their work. This restaurant is a gem and should not be overlooked if you're in the area and craving anything spicy, sweet, or just rich and savory of the Thai or general Asian-American...
Read moreTried this place twice but I doubt I will be back.
The first time we went here we arrived at 7:30 pm. They were not busy, but had maybe 2 other tables? Another table arrived after us, but the waiter (he/she) took their order first anyway. After about 15 minutes of just sitting there he/she came and took our order. Then we waited and waited and finally at 8:45 pm we still did not have our food. The other table that came after us had already eaten and left. Did I mention they were not busy at all? The waiter comes to our table and says do you want to place a "to go order"? We tell him/her, "No, we already ordered" to which (s)he replies that they forgot to put our order in! The waiter says now it is too late to get table service so we would need to place a to go order. We didn't want to eat it to go... and we were disappointed so we left with nothing. I was not at all impressed with this server.
We went back about a month later because we met relatives, who like us, enjoy Thai food. I was told that everybody's meal was good. Mine however was actually quite terrible. I had Tom Yum soup with seafood. There was hardly any seafood in it!! I think I had a piece of imitation crab, a sliver of octopus, and like 2 tiny shrimp. no kidding. Plus the soup was very, very lime flavored. Too much lime and it overpowered the whole soup. It tasted like I was drinking a glass of lemonade or limeade. yuck. The other people at my table seemed to enjoy their food and we actually did get served this time, so I will give it a 2 star. 2 stars is quite a stretch though, this...
Read moreHEAVENS. I had just almost passed out at the Red Cross donation center (iykyk) and needed some food for the road (if I needed to pull over and bring myself back to life). The drive was fine, so I didn’t end up stopping on the entire 50 minute drive home…and that food was still hot and delicious when I got there. We’ve had several misses at Thai restaurants over the past few years, so my expectations weren’t high. I knew what I was about to taste would have been fine but I did NOT expect this—soft, tender meat and fully cooked vegetables, warm aromas, and perfectly spiced (I went for low spice and it had a little more heat than I thought it would, so take that into consideration when ordering the curry.) We had the curry and the drunken noodles. They slapped. They punched. And then the mango sticky rice round house kicked me to the face in the best way. K.O. Delicious. I will return as...
