Rent-A-Center — Local services in Ardmore

I went to Rent A Center in Ardmore, Oklahoma. I spoke to the manager he seemed pretty nice about everything. Of course they had many things I was interested in. Well When I spoke to the manager about the laptops they wanted top dollar for these laptops that you can go online and get it for like 300.00 new. Well I had the chrome for 2 days and it was messing up. I called and they said they will have to give me a loaner, so I drove all the way to Ardmore about 35 min away from my house. They did paper work and they handed me a computer that I was going to use. Well I called them back the next day they asked what was wrong with the computer. I told them and the man that was on the phone said, " I am sorry come in and let up give it a look." Well I went in and they said they gave me a computer that had been tampered with and was not set up properly. So they gave me ANOTHER loaner I just about gave up on this company. After all I dealt with I waited a whole two weeks of not having the computer I originally liked and wanted they gave me these horrible computers that were not properly installed right. I called them up for the last time and the man on the phone said to me the computer was in the chrome I originally went with I asked how long. A wholes two weeks wasted and gas too going up there. I am never dealing with these people again. The one thing that really was poor service is the man said," Well you have a job and you have to deal with these type of things girl. We get in the computers and then we make calls." I said I am a girl and would prefer to be called Miss not a girl. Very unprofessional and I wish these people who are employs be a little...

I paid Rent 1st for nearly 2 years on used furniture that I was promised would be replaced with a new couch set. They failed to deliver — not once, but five times. Every time I asked for answers, I got excuses and attitude from rotating managers who acted like I was the problem.

After being told my balance was paid off, I was suddenly told I owed $750 — with no written proof or breakdown. When I asked questions, I was met with hostility, cussing, and a manager who threatened to press criminal charges over a 7-day late payment caused by a simple card switch.

The harassment continued: late-night calls, threatening language, and total disrespect. I was even told “we can come to your house whenever we want.”

If you value professionalism, honesty, or basic respect — stay away from Rent 1st.

I own a business and run multiple operations. I treat people with respect and expect the same. This company does not operate with integrity, and I will be reporting this experience to the Oklahoma Attorney General, the CFPB, and the FTC.

My husband and I went in about a week ago and bought a washer dryer set. Was supposed to be delivered the following Monday. They were unable to deliver the set because there was an issue with the set. Found another set in Moore. They said they would go and get it and deliver them the next day. They showed up with the set but the washer was smaller and had an agitator in it. I did not want the smaller washer. They said for me to take the set and they would look for the original set I wanted in the meantime. Fast forward to Friday evening the manager Michael called and said they had a set pretty close to what I originally bought and asked if I could come and look at it. We went Saturday morning(only a full week later) and it was even better than the original set. No extra charge. We said Yes, please! He said they could get it delivered to me this afternoon.
