"My experience working at Homeland was overwhelmingly negative and stressful. The lack of support and training was glaring, especially given my upfront communication about my disabilities and the need for assistance. The environment was marred by the unprofessional behavior of my manager. His attitude towards even minor issues was baffling - one instance where I slightly misplaced a pickle jar became a major point of contention. His intolerance extended to simple human interactions; a brief conversation with a friend who sought my help in the store was met with unwarranted anger, as if I was neglecting my duties.
The manager's frequent and lengthy disappearances, often just to smoke, left me and another stocker to fend for ourselves. When I needed guidance, like where to place a specific item, his advice was dismissive, telling me to search aimlessly up and down every aisle. This lack of direction made the job unmanageable.
The workplace culture at Homeland felt toxic and uncaring. Despite their claims of valuing employees, the reality was starkly different. The emotional toll, compounded by the incompetence and apathy of the management, became unbearable. Ultimately, I had no choice but to leave for the sake of my mental well-being. It's puzzling how a business can operate this way, with such a blatant disregard for its employees' welfare and...
Read moreThis is one of our favorite places to get groceries in the area. The store is always clean, people working there are always helpful and friendly.
There is a great produce section, with reasonably priced, fresh produce. There is a small selection of organic produce, as well as some that is precut and ready to eat.
The meat market offers some good deals, but prices can be hit or miss. There is always a nice display with a good selection to choose from. The deli is just as nice, with a quality selection that can be cut to order.
Another area we like are the artisan cheeses that are available. Several different kinds from gruyĂšre, ginger cheddar, goat cheese, and lots of others!
There are plenty of other things available here including: a bakery that makes cakes to order, a bank, and a bill payment machine.
Definitely a nice store for groceries, whether it's just a couple of things or you are shopping...
Read moreParking lot was filthy. I called before going to homeland, was on the phone for fifteen minutes noone answered. The phone was still ringing when I got there. An employee was behind the front desk listening to the phone ring. After standing there with the phone ringing and being ignored by the employee I asked was she the MOD. She replied yes. But you can't answer the phone. After shopping I went to check out. No waiting no lines but four employees standing around talking to each other including the cashier who rang my products up, took my money and never acknowledged my presence. I finally commented have a good that's when she responded. The MOD said they were short handed then asked do you need a job. I had forgotten my drink so I went back in. After shopping, I went to the self check out. Where the assistant managers accused me of trying to steal. She was very rude. But she did pose...
