READ THIS BEFORE APPLYING FOR UTILITY ASSISTANCE!

I reached out to this organization for help with utility assistance. They have hard deadlines for filling out forms and submitting documents and I kept up with them. The last one was a case coordinator, Kettley Donato, who sent me an email around 9am saying we would have a meeting at 1:30pm and missing it would mean I wouldn’t be able to reapply for 6 MONTHS! We didn’t speak beforehand, and I never confirmed the meeting time with the coordinator, I didn’t even know about it. As you’d expect, I didn’t see this email till later that day which meant that I wouldn’t be eligible for assistance.

The coordinator reached out to me later to reschedule and thankfully, I was able to speak with them and ultimately, possibly get a pledge from them which I appreciate immensely. If you decide to reach out to them, put notifications on their emails, missing them could mean waiting...

I had a positive experience. I was experiencing a difficult time getting settled out of state. It was not only a financial hardship but emotional. I had so many negative experiences and little resources or anyone I could turn to for help. I was in the process of losing everything, housing and transportation and they came through for me when I felt completely hopeless. I was helped by Ruth . She not only took an interest in my situation but me as a person. She showed kindness , respect and compassion with no judgement but chose to help me . This has been a blessing I will always remember...

This charity organization has the worst ever! They took the responsibility of a family migrated through IOM recently to VA. They should help resettle the client for 3 months and then refer them to employment program and find him job.

The program should help a family for the first three months then next step for 6 months. But on the 20th days of their migration they confiscated his payment as of the month April, and May and warned him that we can’t help more. Government doesn’t help you no more.
