Don't go here unless you'rw hoping for an OVERCHARGE on your card. I hadn't been there for close to 5 years and just today, while I was in the neighborhood, I ordered a Lamb Karahi for pickup. It took them close to 20 minutes to prep, fully expected. The problem was when I went to pay, they charged me an extra $2 more than what the menu stated and 10% tax (carried out). I confronted them about it and they said there was an extra $1 charge because of rising food prices for each order and they claimed food tax in Virginia was 10%. I ordered one item, so roughly $5 tacked on to what the price should have been. It finally dawns on me why other reviewers say they insist on cash rather than card... so that patrons can't dispute the charge with their credit card company.

Small family Pakistani restaurant with minimal seating. Definitely authentic as I was the only native English speaker there. The service was great, as were the recommendations. They definitely steered me to their special as everything else I asked about would "take a while." šŸ˜€ The chicken Karahi was excellent and came out in a dinner sized portion...so I have a bonus to-go dish for later . They also were insistent about paying with cash instead of card although they did accept cards... I'm sure if I had insisted they would have. Frankly they would have gotten a 5 star rating is the whole ordering, paying, seating process had been more efficient. I'll definitely be back...check out pictures of my meal attached.

I have been a regular at Ravi Chatkhara, and it certainly deserves a feedback from me to express my loyalty. Food and Service are standouts and unique. If you like to savor authentic Pakistani flavors, this place along with adjacent Ravi kabob are the best in the city. I'd recommend a weekend brunch of halva Poori / Lamb Karahi / Chicken Karahi / Biryani at Chatkhara. Arun who is the chef/manager ensures you leave the place happier. He would recommend the dishes for the newbies who may find the menu card overwhelming.

I’m not even sure how people are dining here without realizing they are being over-charged/ scammed!

Like absolutely ridiculous!! If I don’t know how much the menu items are, I’d be scammed every single time.

I get 2 ā€œside ordersā€ and the guy rings me out for 40 bucks!!! Another time, I get a chicken karhai alone which was the ONLY thing that was worth getting over the years; was charged 45 bucks, for a portion that seemed like leftovers. Looks like forty something is their goal for every one who either dines-in/ carry out. Please be vigilant and don’t get scammed!!

Also, please be aware that — should you use your card , you are not charged twice. I was paying half in cash, and remaining in card, the guy ringing me out, charged me the same amount both in cash and card - again ā€œdoubleā€!!!

Either the people there do not know basic math, or their system is outdated, or he just thinks people are stupid!...

Ravi chatkhara is the best place for lunch, dinner, or even a late night snack. I have been going to Ravi chatkhara for quite a while now ever since I realized just how good their food is. They are a true authentic Pakistan restaurant and whatever you ask for, it is there. Mouth watering Karahi to kabob rolls I would quite literally die for, Ravi chatkhara has it all. Each time I pass by Glebe road, I make sure to go to Ravi chatkhara. For late night cravings, this is a must. My family orders a variety from awesome samosas, refreshing mango lassi, and more. The overall aesthetic is beautiful. I could see myself spending hours looking at the beautiful paintings of Pakistan and exquisite photos of food. Anyone in their right minds would order from Ravi chatkhara over any other place. If you are anywhere near the D.C. metro area you need to try out...
