I had to give at least one star to post a review. But no stars are deserved. I was just informed by my friend, that she and her sister visited Kohl's about a month ago. They were there to both shop and inquire as to whether or not Kohl's was hiring. My friend walked in and passed by a full length mirror. As she did, she realized that she had two different earrings on, not matching, and simply took them off and handed them to her sister to put in her purse. Not long after that, the "Loss Prevention Officer" approached them along with a police officer that he had called to the store, and they both proceeded to harass my friend and her sister, accusing them of stealing! They went so far as to say they had them on camera stealing, and threatened them with jail! My friend completely dumped everything in her purse, her sister wasn't carrying a purse or bag or anything, and asked to see the video. When the video was played, it clearly showed them walking into the store, her removing earrings from her ears and handing them to her sister to put in the purse (her sister was holding the purse at the time), BEFORE they even started shopping. With the viewing of the video, the police officer then realized that a terrible mistake had been made. My friend informed the Police Officer and the "Loss Prevention Officer" that she was leaving. The Police Officer was kind enough to meet her and her sister outside and apologize to them for the misunderstanding. (Kudos to APD for having a decent officer!) There was, however, NO apology from the "Loss Prevention Officer", or the manager/manager on duty that day! Kohl's should be ashamed of this reckless behavior, and the "Loss Prevention Officer" should be reprimanded if not released! It is completely unacceptable for anyone to be treated as my friend and her sister were, for absolutely NO reason at all!! There should be an apology and compensation to my friend and her sister, as well as an apology to the public. This should be accompanied with the measures that were taken to remedy this from continuing to happen and reassurances to the public that Kohl's will not tolerate nor continue to allow this kind of behavior from any of their associates or affiliates. I would have included the specific names of both the "Loss Prevention Officer" and the Police Officer, but my friend no longer remembered any names....
Read moreI recently visited the Asheville Kohls a couple of times since I moved here to Asheville a couple of months ago.
I generally like going to Kohls because their product selection and quality are a step up from what you can generally expect from your typical mass market retail merchant. On occasion Kohl's also has some very good sales.
Recently I was looking for a Food Network kitchen tool which Kohl's indicated was in stock at their Asheville location. According to their online inventory 9 of those items were in stock. Upon arriving at Kohl's I was unable to find the item in their kitchen department. Locating the Department Manager, she indicated her computer showed 1 was in stock. Upon looking through the department she unable to locate any items herself. Her response to me was that the stores inventory control was very poor. She indicated that she would update the on hand stock for this particular item. With the on hand stock updated I waited a couple of weeks to see if the item was now physically on their store shelves. Checking Kohl's online inventory a day ago, they indicated their Asheville store had 5 on hand. Out of my own curiosity I returned to the store, only to find of course that the item was still missing.
Unfortunately store inventory both here and at many other retail stores across the country is very poor. This is a result of continued cost cutting to compete with the your online giant Amazon. Finding a store associate is like trying to find a straw in a haystack. Store shelves are bare and inventory is disorganized to the point that you feel pot luck dinner is being served every time you shop at your local...
Read moreDo not go to the SEPHORA in this Kohl's if you see an old white lady with dry brittle reddish hair because she is racist, judgmental, and stereotypes customers which is why there are barely any customers in Sephora anyway, you need to fire her immediately if you want to keep customers so that she doesn’t scare them away. I have had two incidents with this same lady. Both times she was watching me and following me very closely when there were other customers in Sephora too who are all white except for me. The first time this happened I bought a perfume so that she didn’t think I stole anything, the second time I was smelling the perfume by spraying it on the little papers to decide which one I wanted. I was between a perfume or lip gloss so I went to the lip gloss section and I still had the papers in my hand, again she was three steps away from me the whole time. I went to the perfume section again because I decided on that and I put the papers in my back pocket. The lady tells me “I’m gonna need that back” and I show her that I was only putting papers in my pocket. But she keeps insisting that I put a lip gloss in my pocket. I showed her that I did not have anything on me from that store except for the little papers to test perfume on. She just said “well there’s the trash can” and left and I turned the aisle and saw that she kept watching me and following me. Never EVER going here again. I am reading the reviews now and see that this has not only...
