Camp Landing Entertainment District — Local services in Ashland

Only things here are a bar and Rural King. Good burgers at the bar and Rural King is a great place to shop. No traffic around mall makes it a great place to walk my dog. Movie house closed due to COVID. Most of the mall building except the mentioned businesses is falling apart. This is a good example of out of state owners letting their properties go to hell. Since I made this post there has been quite a turnaround at Camp Landing. Many new attractions and the movie theater is now open. Malibu Jacks has opened . It has many rides for the kids and even a bowling alley for adults. A horse track is planned for the facility and a gambling center is also on the way. Lots of renovation both inside and out along with the front parking lot being repaved. One sore spot is the security. There have been quite a few incidents of harassment by the wanna-be cops. Including a pregnant woman and her children and even myself. My wife and I were walking out dog in back along the sidewalk and were accosted by a very unfriendly security person. We were told we could not walk on the sidewalk but he would "allow" us to walk on the lot. There are no stores in the back lot and the area we were walking on actually belonged to the county and not the mall. Therefore, nice place to take the kids but be wary of the obnoxious...

This place is... a mall, I guess. Seems like they've shifted more into a "hey guys pls place anything in here pls we need money" kind of mall. There's a trampoline place, movie theater, disco golf area, library, and the last time I went to the mall, there was an inflatable area blocking off the back exit near the food court. I think the local high school rents out one of the tenants to host archery matches here. The few stores they have are nice and probably stuff you'd never get at Ashland Town Center (Rural King, Treasure Chest (which actually used to be in the ATC before JC Penney expanded), a store with hospital scrubs, and a wedding dress store). I'm a bit surprised Elder Beerman is still here while they decided to leave the biggest mall in West Virginia recently. The few restaurants they have that are probably the only reason this mall still exists (other than the movie theater) are really nice, too. Don't fall in love with any of the restaurants inside the food court because they almost always close a few months later. I think the pizza place is the only exception. But, yeah, this mall is lacking. Needs some more business. I think the mall's Facebook page made a petition to get a Target there. Kinda...

I had a an amazing time with my girlfriend and roommate at Malibu Jacks. The atmosphere was electric, the games were plentiful and unique, but there was just one major problem and that was the custodian who SCREAMED at me for walking into the mens restroom at 9:00 PM before a game of bowling. She was extremely rude and seemed like she only cared for getting out of work. I asked if this was the only restroom and she sarcastically responded to me in a mocking voice. It completely ruined my mood and made me feel as if I didn’t belong as a paying guest. I only gave this two stars so someone who may be in charge of her will see this and act accordingly. Absolutely...
