I have ALWAYS SHOPPED AT SHAWS IN WELLESLEY, MA., No. Shore, Beverly, Arlington, and several other locations. UNFORTUNATELY, the Shaws in Wellesley, near my home, was closed...I cannot praise the store ENOUGH for its cleanliness, discounts great prices, quality of food and FRIENDLY CUSTOMER service! Today, I passed several other supermarkets to try out a Shaws in Ashland, Ma...which I did not know was there.....I drank TOO many liquids and rushed from my car to the store....to use the facilities before shopping.... Two cashiers ignored my " excuse me"..AND IT WAS NOT VERY BUSY.......SO, I went to Customer Service. Facing me, was a young man looking down at paperwork. ....he did not acknowledge my presence, so, I figured he was working on something impt and gave him a full minute...HE NEVER EVEN LOOKED UP AT ME!!!! I HAD TO FIND A FEMALE CUSTOMER WHO ,THANKFULLY, DID HELP ME!! It should be about the food, the prices...I HONESTLY, " NEVER" COMPLAIN about much....BUT..I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS SHAWS AGAIN....I was happy to have found its location but, being TOTALLY, PURPOSELY IGNORED....NOT WORTH ! UTTERLY RUDE..EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.... I formerly worked for a large bank, customer service department, management, and this would NEVER have been tolerated...OH, BTW...I AM PREGNANT....I HAD TO GO!!! Any mom, pregnant woman can CERTAINLY empathize with me...... AND..LOL, I GUESS it's my elevated hormonal level causing me to go off on such a seemingly trivial subject.... BUT, ..." CUSTOMER SERVICE" ..how about ACKNOWLEDGEMENT!!! .....THANX! GOING ...

So why a low score???? The staffing is less than perfection. My last trip in, was so disappointing when I got to the cashier. Two associates were chatting about their first paychecks and how they needed to see how much they were being paid Now as a first time job I get the excitement they had, but they didn't realize how inappropriate this was on the sales floor and wrong ethnically. As a former store manager, had I overheard this going on my salesfloor, both associates would have been given written warnings and explained why this is wrong. Speaking of your front-end manager... the young man who seems to be the manager on duty spends more time walking around the store and not assisting his front-end team, which can explain why there is a breakdown in the front end. If Shaws wasn't 1.5 miles from my residence and didn't meet my quick grocery needs... I would...
Read moreThis Shaws in particular seems to be continuously out of most things I need. I don't want a rain check I want to get in and out with the food I came for, but that doesn't often happen here. It is by far the closest supermarket to my but I often bypass it so I don't need to make a...
