I have always bragged on this location. I have bragged on the friendly employees and the great organization of the store! I still come in often, as it is convenient for me. However, the customer service has gone down-hill. The past 3 Sunday’s I have gone in, they have only had one cash register open, and a line that goes back into the food aisles. The is Kroger, not Walmart. I expect better. In addition, they should look into getting some kind of security (or a better system if they already employee someone for it.), because there have been many times lately where women I know have been followed around by strange men, who go back outside and wait on them to come outside. It has happen to co-workers of mine, my mom, my sister, and a couple of friends. I know this isn’t specifically Kroger’s fault, however they should have someone monitoring their store, and the people in it better. It would prevent a lot of issues. Just a though. Changed to 1 star from 3, because the lines and customer service keep getting worse. 80% of the employees just don’t seem friendly, and the refuse to open more than 1-2 registers on Saturday and Sunday morning, cause you to stand in line 15-25 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous.
UPDATE:
It is still frustrating to go into this location. Registers are still rarely open in the mornings, when when a line is backed up into the aisles. On multiple occasions, we have had to hunt down a manager to get another line open.
The restrooms are always nasty. I went in the restroom a couple of months ago, and one of the toilets at overflown. It looked like they went in with a mop, spread the water out, and set a wet floor sign down. It was absolutely disgusting. The soap and paper towels are often out, and there is dirty water all over the counters.
The produce is some of the worst around. The strawberries ALWAYS rot within 24-36 hours of bringing them home (We have tried leaving them out and putting them in the refrigerator).
The starbucks seems to run out of simple items, like apple juice often. They claim they cannot get any from the back, or even the self. That makes no sense. It’s not a real Starbucks. It is just a counter set up and ran by kroger employees, in the locations where Kroger has paid to use starbucks recipes, logos, etc.
The woman that runs the self-checkouts in the morning, is typically not the friendliest person. She had been kind once or twice, but she is very selective on which customers she speaks to. She will ignore many, and then one will come up who she will start a conversation with, and speak to them the whole time they are checking out.
The entrance closest to the pharmacy doesn’t open until 8:00am. That doesn’t make too much sense considering most other competitors open their secondary entrances BY 7:00am. If I need to just run on for a bottle of medicine or something, it is ridiculous to have to walk to the other end of the store and back, just for one item. It is especially difficult when I have my elderly grandmother with me. It’s not a HUGE deal, but it is frustrating. Most importantly, even being as late as 8:00, often times I will walk up to the door 5-15 minutes after, and it will still be locked.
There are so many little things that add up, that make an overall poor experience. This location is so convenient to my house, but I am ending up with a stressful experience, just to save some time and gas.
This store manager here needs to really evaluate their team and management. This store as potential to do much better. This is a great location and a growing area. As the biggest store in this area, this team should want to strive to be the best that they can be. Some of the cashiers are super kind, as well as a couple of women in the bakery. However, many many of the other employees always present theirselves as so unhappy and mad. That is a very poor look. This team needs to get their priorities in order, and realize that they have a LOT of improving to do, if they want to be the best that...
Read moreI frequent this store now tha im living just minutes away. Tonight I ran in real quick to get my dogs food, left dog in truck with ac going but shes smart and stepped on windows button to get out and tried following me in store according to witnesses that then saw a couple leave with her seconds before I came out the store. Frantic, I went inside to customer service asking for help and everyone was unconcerned, offered no video footage, wouldn't even print off a flyer with her Pic I'd made up on my phone, it woulda took literally 2 minutes of their time to do. But everybody was too busy with their face buried in their phones to be bothered. Even as I sat outside handwriting flyers with my number and dogs info, crying so that a little girl brought over $5 thinking I was homeless and there begging for money as I sat outside the doors with the paper markers and tape I'd bought when FedEx wasnt open by time I got there to print from my phone...so I came back and made handwritten posters as these teenagers and young "adults"in Kroger uniform guarded the doors as store closed just stayed there, for like 30 minutes, with their face buried in their phones...yet as i adked they were too busy to print the flyer with my dogs pic on it though...and yes management has a printer upstairs. They wouldnt even ask the manager for me. CUSTOMERS HELPED ME AND CARED MORE THAN PEOPLE PAID TO BE THERE AND HELP PEOPLE...a child gave me $5 as I was so distraught I sat down making signs for my dog she assumed I was asking for money...so im putting that $5 with the reward money offered for my dogs safe return...God, PLEASE... She's a friendly brownish red 27lb mix breed. Ppl often assume shes like a lab/ bird dog puppy but shes actually grown atc4yrs old and fixed after her 1 litter. Her puppy whambo is 2yrs old and is lost without her as am I. I left my flyers all over the storefront and will b back in the morning with better ones with her Pic once FedEx opens. If you have any info about my dog, theres a cash reward for her safe return and I left my info at service desk as well as on those fliers . U can see pics of Fancy at www.facebook.com/kimmydaniel and msg me there w any info. Please help me find her. Im devastated. I know she is too. She never leaves my side...
Read moreI just recently bought a regal cinemas gift card here of which I was eager to use but after purchasing it to my dismay I quickly realized after doing a google maps search that the closest regal was at best 50 minutes away. As I have just recently moved here to the city of Athens, Ga I was totally blindsided by this as this city is really not a small one it is a bustling college town of which logic should dictate have all the major movie chains in it but doesn't. Shocked that a major chain store would sell a product that doesn't exist withing a 40 mile radius I attempted to go to costumer service with my receipt in hand to get my money back or at least store. Again to my dismay the store manager said that they do not do returns on gift cards even with a valid receipt. Doing this type of business is scummy and should be considered a scam. Selling a product that no person in that city can use is not good business and all people and persons should beware of this type of reckless abandonment to honesty and the trap of the fuel point incentives of these so called gift cards for people to purchase because many people might not be able to use them at all. With my truck that gets about 20 miles to the gallon I would have to spend nearly as much in gas to get to and from the closest regal as in the cost of a single ticket in the first place and 60 points towards fuel points rewards does not help. This is a scam that everyone should be aware of and I hate to say it since I love kroger and many of the products they sell so much. But, in order to change my rating from a 1 to something not so entirely damaging they have to either claim responsibility by refunding people the gift cards that can't be used, can't be used easily or stop selling those gift cards...
