I’ve taken some time to process my visit and the aftermath so I think I’m ready to speak up about it. My bf and I came here the day we left for Denver (8/5) and I was super excited about it. My boyfriend backed out upon reading the paperwork but decided to go through with it when I got mine. At first, I was okay and encouraged him. I mentioned numerous times in front of the person who stuck me that it burns a little and she told me it was normal. So whatever.. 5 mins later I ask my boyfriend if his burns at all and he says no. I look at my arm again 5 mins later and it’s pretty swollen. I told her that and she explains to me that my vein is collapsed. Sounds scary but I didn’t want to freak my bf out at all so I kept calm. She inserted the catheter into my wrist area after that (on the same arm) [which I’ve learned from several of my clients since the time that you are NOT supposed to stick an IV below the original poke] They untie me and blood starts pouring out everywhere and got on my clothes. Which for the common person, would terrify them. Luckily I’m not easily “icked” by that kind of stuff so I still kept calm. They proceeded to puncture my left wrist, collapsed that vein, then punctured my left mid arm. FINALLY that worked and no more veins collapsed. I was happy and proceeded onto my day. I was kinda worried because I had a flight that day and wasn’t sure if the collapsed veins would be okay at a high altitude. So, I call and speak to someone who happens to be phlebotomists’ superior. He reassures me that I’d be fine, but then tells me that the max they’re supposed to poke me is 3 times. They did 4, and possibly even 5 (I think I remember them poking my left wrist twice) I still wasn’t even mad. Until we arrived in Denver and I didn’t feel a noticeable difference at all. I had to drink 2 Liquid IV packs a day and guzzle water. Which is fine... I know Denver is dry. But I didn’t think I’d be THAT dehydrated upon arrival being that I paid for a $100 IV. It felt all that pain was for nothing. My bruises on my arms are just now going away. I know my veins are small and hard to find, but the fact that they didn’t follow protocols scares me from ever doing this again. They had great tea...
Read moreThis was my first time getting IV therapy and my experience was okay. Everyone at this establishment was extremely nice and accommodating (Nia and Arzelle) except for the receptionist. Receptionist wasn’t the nicest and didn’t really help me in choosing the IV infusion.
I went in during Patient Experience Week, where they have $10 and $49 experiences. The company spends so much time advertising this, however the receptionist seem to have forgotten and attempted to charge me full price for everything. They charged me $10 for an IV booster (as advertised but after I asked) but charged me the full price of $49 for a Vitamin D injection (not as advertised). When questioned about that, they said it only covers Vitamin D labs. Per their advertisement, $10 experiences includes vitamin injections (cholecalciferol = vitamin). So I was overcharged but I just paid for it because I was tired of going back and forth.
Arzelle made my experience very soothing and relaxing. I’m usually a hard stick, but he was able to get the IV inserted in one attempt. Explained everything thoroughly and checked up on me a few times throughout my therapy!
Overall, I rate my experience a 3/5. I may consider giving Hydra+ another try but...
Read moreI prefer hydra plus because they have great iv vitamin mixes for a better price than other places. They have 2 new people working there Arzell and Amber. I’ll give them more time to learn the ropes and I’ll come back and update my review. Had to get stuck twice. The first stock caused a painful bubble under my skin and had to get wrapped. So they had to stick the other arm. No one wants to walk around with short sleeves and two bandaged arms. So I asked for a bandaid to cover the second. Instead of explaining why we should’ve bandaged the first stick and wrapped the second Azell just let me leave with the bandaid after preaching about “protocol” why he couldn’t put the glutathione boost in my tube instead of in the bag which didn’t drain all the way before removing. I ended up bleeding all over myself by the time I reached the door. So much for “protocol” and Sunday funday. I’ve got to go home, shower, put on long sleeves for the bruising, and clean the blood...
