Service from the older lady that owns the place is AWFUL. I used to come often and spent good money here until One day when I couldn't take her terrible service! She was extremely short, cut me off during my order, dropped my food off and i had to get up and find her for my check! However, to all the caucasian business men/women that came in on their lunch break ooh she gave them MORE than enough attention.I was so upset that I paid my bill in full and left no tip. (Let's not forget that tips are earned and not mandatory) I got inside my car and THE OLD ASIAN WOMAN THAT WORKS THERE RAN UP TONMY CAR BANGING ON MY WINDOW YELLING "you left no tip!!! You left no tip! You come here and you leave no tip!" (I wanted to get out my car and disregard what I had learned at church the day before) I rolled my window down and said "your daughter waits on me every time I come (which was about 3 times a week I might add because I lived down the street) and she always get more than a 20% tip from me ask her, but you ignored me the entire time and never even looked my way!" She kept yelling "you leave not tip and you know it" I said "your right I didn't!" She reached her hands in my car to try and keep me from leaving...not to fight me but thinking I wouldn't do what I did next which was roll that window up, slap my car in reverse and go on about my day. If you are any race but Asian or white, I don't recommend going there for any kind of service but short rude service. Except from the young girl. The young girl whom I'm assuming is her daughter is kind and sweet but that old woman clearly voted for...

I heard great things about this restaurant and was looking for a good lunch. Decided to check them out... went online and reviewed their lunch menu. Called and placed my order for a pickup. When I arrived, the host rang up the order. They overcharged me (double the price as advertised on their website menu). I brought this to their attention and was told, "oh sorry, the prices on the website are wrong. We should change that." I brought up their online menu on my iPhone and showed him the price and how it was half the price, and again he only apologized. I told him this was the price advertised and this is the price I should be paying. Again, just the apology! Didn't offer to reduce my bill!!! WTH??!!! It was a $10 discrepancy! I had to pay $27 for a lunch that should have cost me $17! The entree I ordered was advertised as being served with miso soup or salad. I didn't receive either. Not a very good...

We re-discovered Starfish in the spring since my kid developed decent restaurant behavior and have been going once or twice a month. It’s an excellent neighborhood place for really good sushi. I have to restrain myself from going every week. The sashimi and sushi is solid - fresh and good rice to fish ratio. Brought my parents one time and my mother gave the tempura the thumbs up. She says good tempura is a sign of a restaurant’s quality and the chef’s skill. We get the one of the sashimi and/or sushi platter and udon noodles every time. We like to try a new thing also. Many times we are surprised with an appetizer which is very kind and makes us feel very appreciated as customers. I enjoy the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere - we like coming on the weekdays because it feels like a warm hug...

First, I ordered the my fair lady roll. It says there’s eel sauce and seaweed flakes, my roll came with just the spicy mayo on the side. Second, I have ordered a few times here for TogoI call when they open because every time Ive eaten in the restaurant they are usually slow, even when there’s 1 or two tables. I work right next door so we go often, i try to order ahead of time, they tell me it is a 30 min wait, I arrive 30 min later and they seem to start only making the rolls when you arrive, and ask what you order so they can start. If there is no one in the restaurant and if you open at a specific time, why say it’ll be ready in 30 min if it won’t be and have to wait another 10 min for it to be made. I will return because the food is good, there’s just always something with the service.

We got their right at opening, and the opener arrived late. We didn't have to wait long and we didn't ask for anything given the wait, but they gave us a couple free appetizers to make up for it. The staff was very friendly and apologetic. I'm not from Atlanta so I can't say how it compares to other nearby restaurants but the food was very good. Many of the sushi rolls are named after movies, and give more variety than what you normally find. We got a few to share. Our favorite was The Lion King. The rolls are a bit pricey but very big. We split 3 rolls among 3 people and left very full. They also give a discount for diners who come before dinner starts, so get there near opening if you want a late lunch. 😁

Today me and my person were out for a weeknight food run, to one of my fav spots in the city Okiboru Ramen when we remember that my partner was on a gluten free kick. Which detoured us to this amazing little gem of a place called Starfish! And wow the staff was amazing our waitress Ivy was completely a pleasure she accommodated all our requests and went above and beyond! They made custom apps for us and literally made housemade gluten free sauces from scratch for us. This experience was nothing short a perfect night out! And if you are ever in the area I dare you to get lost and find yourself here!!
