Update 5/18/25 - back when they first opened, they added bamboo shoots to the Ramen but that eventually stopped and they now charge $4.50 for bamboo shoots in your ramen which seems a tad crazy. They should offer an add on for $.50-$1 at most. They have no add ons for their ramen like many places offer.
— We are so exited that we have a new ramen spot walking distance to the house! And, it’s really good ramen!
Food
So far, for small plates, we have tried the Shoyu Brussels, Crispy Goyza and the Garlic Nori Fries. All 3 were tasty but the Shoyu Brussels were amazing! The brussels are something we will get over and over again.
For ramen, we have tried the Tonkotsu, Spicy Tonkotsu and the Tori Paitan. The pork chashu in the tonkotsu is some of the best I’ve had! And the chicken in the Tori Paitan is sooo good!
Drinks
We have only tried one cocktail so far and I don’t remember the name but I did include a photo of the drink to this review. The drink was sweet and fruity and I will definitely order again! I’m also looking forward to trying new drinks.
Service
We’ve visited 3 times now and so far, the service has been great. We’ve sat at the bar the last two times and the bartender is very sweet and always has a huge smile.
Atmosphere
The restaurant is a cute little ramen spot with limited seating but so far, we have had no issues walking in and grabbing a seat at the bar.
We are always looking for a cozy little bar to have drinks and some food and this bar is that spot!
Value
The value is good. The food and drinks are really great and price is just right so no complaints on value for what you get.
Overall, we really enjoy the ramen here and it has already become a regular...
Read moreI love ramen so when this place opened, I was eager to try it especially after reading the reviews. Plus, it's within walking distance from where I live so super convenient!
Upon entering, we were greeted at the door with smiling faces and taken to a table. Our waitress answered questions when asked but her personality was not outgoing or warm.
We asked about sake options explaining what it was that we wanted. Our waitress told us about a citrusy option that was light and similar to what we explained. She brought the sake and it was yellow and dense. We tried it and it was very sweet and tasted and looked like limoncello. This could be nice as an after dinner sweet treat instead of a dessert but not for the main course. We took one sip and called our waitress over to explain this was not what we were expecting. She seemed to not know what to do and took the bottle. She returned to our table with the bottle and told us that her manager said that since the bottle was opened, there was nothing they could do about it and that we should just go ahead and drink it. I did not feel this situation was handled appropriately; it lacked experience, great customer service, and professionalism.
The pork buns, chashu wrap, and spicy tori paitan ramen were delicious!
The music in the establishment drove me crazy. It was loud and sounded like punk rock. I understand everyone has different music preferences and I respect that, but it was loud and frustrating to speak over and enjoy dinner to.
Overall, food was good but customer service could improve...
Read moreProbably the last review for a while. Today we went to okiburo for lunch. It’s been a while since I had ramen so my palate may lack a little. To start off the atmosphere was great. It seemed private enough from table to table though they were a little close. I liked the decoration and the utensils and bowls were nice. The service was pretty average, solid and accompanying. Now to get into the food. The ribs had a great flavor, the garlic was not overpowering and it was a great blend of rich flavors. The meat was tender and easy to eat. The buns were alright to be honest, it seemed sort of casual and mediocre. Sort of like what you would get from a baseball game if you wanted to get something a little nicer. The gioza was flavorful and crispy, solid. The ramen was great. The rich tonkotsu flavor was great and the noodles were cooked well. The pork was a little soft, personally I would have liked the pork to have more of a charcoal and Smokey flavor. The egg was cooked well, I love a good ramen egg. Overall the food was solid and pretty standard to what you would expect from a ramen shop in Japan or some sort of authentic ramen place. I give it a...
