Literally went in here the other day and had a bag from shopping at the store next door. I had someone ask me to give my bag to them, like they were worried I might steal something. I gave it to them and then thought you know what I’m done being in this store if this is how they treat customers. So I took my purchase up front. I had some equate episom salt. Small bag and it rang up as $6.00. Ummm, no! That is too much for episom salt. Needless to say I did not purchase it. I got a way bigger bag at winco for half the price the next day and I could get the really nice Dr Teals almost anywhere for $5.00. The only one stealing here is this company and it’s from the consumer. I live right across from this store so it’s convenient but unfortunately if convenience cost that much, I will go somewhere else.
response: no I quite literally don’t understand over pricing things in an economy people are struggling in. Instead of selling items at a comparable price, which I would have been willing to pay for equate episom salt. You lost out on money completely by over selling that to $6.00. I can get equate episom salt almost anywhere for 3.00 or less. Even through smaller family businesses. So instead of making $3.00 pricing, you completely lost out on a purchase all together. which I’m sure I’m not the only person whom has walked in and walked straight out due to prices. As per the rest of the responses. Would be happier to see a grocery outlet here or something with fair prices. As far as being family owned, you sure don’t treat your customers as family. And also agree with everyone else’s review on the nasty selection of produce. Also people don’t want to be treated like thieves upon walking in. I also agree with the person’s response in an earlier review. I was excited to see a grocery across the street from me but this store is a complete disappointment. People are willing to pay a small amount over for convenience but being ripped off is a whole...
Read moreI went in for the first time yesterday (10/24) and was very surprisingly happy. The Lea Hill Market that was here before was so overpriced I assumed itd be the same thing or similar, but it wasnt. I saw a couple of reviewers complain about being overpriced, so I'll try to give an objective picture.
I do most of my grocery shopping at Safeway so that's what I would consider my standard for shopping prices. The milk at Dhotsons was 2.99. At safeway its 2.69 and 3.29 depending on which you get, so I'd say Dhotsons was certainly fair. Doritos were the same price as Safeway. Shredded cheese for tacos was the same as the Lucerne brand at Safeway. There are other examples that could be given, but the point is that I felt it was no different than going to Safeway...except for one factor. Safeway can afford to have sales that a smaller market usually cant. So while the prices seem comparable, a place like Safeway can offer bigger sales at times.
Between the fair prices and the EXCELLENT customer service at the cashier, I plan on being a regular here and am happy they've moved into the...
Read moreSo I wasn’t going to write this review but I just need to so I went there at their little Mexican restaurant that they have and ordered a burrito and rice and let me tell you guys the burrito was disgusting. The rice was way too salty they put more beans and rice in my burrito than meat, there is more onions and cilantro than meat. I never shop here they’re way too expensive. I rather go to Safeway or go to Fred Meyer because they’re a dollar or two cheaper they make up their own prices and it’s probably because they’re the only grocery store on top of the hill and there’s a lot of People who probably get food assistance and spend their food stamps there but yes, I do not recommend that Mexican spot in that grocery store you’re better off Going to Subway or the teriyaki spots next-door they’re way better better customer service and don’t let me get started on the people who work in Dawson. They’re very creepy they look at you and you know what they say about Mexicans and I’m not even gonna go into that, but do...
