BEWARE!!!! Glad they had a switch 2 for me when I went to buy one with one caveat the employee is forcing you into purchasing a membership for GameStop pro to buy one before midnight. I even said that was shady when I went to purchase my switch and he agreed. This is FALSE do not get conned into purchasing the GameStop membership. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THE MEMBERSHIP TO BUY A SWITCH 2. I called back and asked for the manager. I explained the situation and that many stores are being investigated by the company about this and he said “we will refund you no problem” back peddled after I told him gamestops are being investigated into this con. Real cool guy. For your bonus you’re stealing people’s money. When I got there to pickup the switch I was fifth in line to receive my system. I got my system and asked for the manager. I told him I wanted the refund for the pro membership and the warrantee that I was encouraged to buy. (Nintendo has its own warrantee for malfunctions) try getting a replacement on a system that no one can get their hands on for another year at least. Game stop is not going to replace a damaged system before selling someone else a system. The manager told me I needed to get back in line which was at least a hundred people and I pushed back and he took me to the register. He refunded me in the end which I appreciate. But both refunds were in cash which makes me think he’s still trying to get credit for the upsell. His response “I’ll be sure to discuss this with my employee.” I reminded him he was standing right next to the employee who I originally discussed this with when I purchased the system. He’s forcing his employees to lie to customers for himself to get a bonus. He knew he was being shady and tried to cover it up....
Read moreI had a horrible experience. I went to Walmart and decided to get my sons SD card at gamestop instead because I figured it would be cheaper. We went to gamestop and asked what they had for SD cards. The one we wanted was up towards $80. So we said we saw one at walmart that was 128gb for $20 something. So we stated we would go back there because it was cheaper but would still buy the game card we found. The employee then asked for our phone number for rewards. We stated we didn't have one because we NEVER go there. And stated for the same reason we didn't want to sign up. No big deal right? Apparently not. The guy says "well you came to a store that offers rewards." I feel like that's our problem if we don't want to get rewards because we never go right? Nope. We say again that we don't want to sign up. The guy replies with "Fine. Have fun shopping at walmart." Very snippy. We finished our purchase of a game card and left. I was so disappointed in the service and way we were spoken to. All because we didn't want to sign up for rewards for a store we never go to. Absolutely...
Read moreI was not very impressed with the customer service when I went recently compared to other times I have been which unfortunately hasn't been in over a year now. Upon walking in the store, I was asked pretty unenthusiastically by the one employee there if I needed any help and I said I was looking for a pre-owned ps4 to purchase and he said yeah they have them and that was it. You would think the employee would show me what the store has to offer right after me asking such a thing but it's like I had to almost force him to get out of his seat and go get one for me by saying like 3 different times that I would like to buy one. Not only this, I was there to witness a phone call he answered rudely telling someone that they don't carry Xbox 360 stuff anymore and basically shaming this person because it's something that's outdated and how dare the person call gamestop with a question about anything having to do with it. I'm sure stuff like this doesn't do the company any favors and surely...
