I need to edit my experience in Golden swan Jewelers in Auburn California. Oct. 2023 I had a 31.1 silver round that had been pounded down into a ball. I walked into the Golden Swan as a test, to see if this coin shop was honest. The owner had a foreign accent that I could hardly understand. I asked if he could tell me what the ball was? After several tests & putting under a microscope he couldn't identify it. He continues more testing. He then took my silver,left me at his desk,went to the back of store. I got suspicious to see where he went, so I went looking for him. I found him he was cutting into the ball without my permission. We then went back to his desk. He attempted more chemical tests, still claiming he didn't no what it was. He decided to weight it. His scale is behind his desk so customers can't see what he's doing nor the weight. (That is against the law.) He is supposed to have a certificate in view for the public because his scale is ( by law) is tested regularly & the scale must be on counter for public to see. He ended up taking a few grams. The next day I took the silver ball to Roseville Numismatics coin shop. ( Great honest customer service & tested my ball. They put a drop on the ball it turned red & the man told me it was .999.9 fine silver & weighed 28.9 grams. The man stated there was no need to make a cut. Golden Swan took advantage, & lied to me, because I was not experienced in precious metals. I learned a valuable lesson. Never allow your metals to leave your site. Never trust a hidden scale. Me and my fiance came to get her ring resized. Almost immediately the woman who helped us was very rude and aggressive for some reason, and made us feel bad about not getting the correct sized ring because she didn't have the correct tools to work on our particular ring.

I don't blame her for not being able to help us, but the rude and aggressive attitude she had really was a downer and ruined what should have been a happy day. Won't be returning anytime soon.

Edit: In response to the owner; I really don't think you understood my complaint. I said it was fine that you couldn't do it. We had asked other jewelers as well who couldn't help us before finally finding one who could.

However, the clear difference between those other jewelers and Golden Swann, was that they gave us other options we could look into and were very kind and eager to help us. We found an option that worked out perfect for our needs.

All we ended up getting from Golden Swann was rude behaviour and accusations that really disheartened us in our search for help. I trust the expert.ios and am not going to tell them what I think can or cannot be done. I would just like to be treated as a valued potential customer and get some form of help as I try and make things perfect for my future wife.

A pretty long time ago now I vacuumed up my engagement ring and golden swan fix the prongs and reset the diamond. they did a great job! When I superglued my updated ring to my finger and was unable to remove the super glue from the ring, I called the Golden swan to ask if the clean jewelry. the gentleman who works there suggested I soak it in alcohol and if it did not come off to bring it in and he will clean it. I asked how much it would be to do that and he told me he would just clean it for me.I soaked it in alcohol for 3 days and there's little tiny crevices on this ring and ithe glue did not come out so I brought it in and the gentleman picked all the spaces and clean my ring to perfection! He did not charge as promised. For the holiday season I will definitely visit to spend my money local and thank him again for the service he did for my ring.
