I'm sorry I forgot our waitresse's name because I would highly recommend her. We arrived just a few minutes before closing but were welcomed with no mention of the hour. Four of us ordered different items and all tasted everything.
For starters shared a large salad with fresh dark greens, fennel, sliced radish, Mandarin orange slices, and olive oil.Fresh crunchy crusted bread was served throughout dinner, and we all loved it.I would have liked butter or oil/ balsamic but didn't ask. They probably had it though. I'm not sure how we got the plate of 4 salami slices and four ripe light brown olives, but that was a nice touch..maybe comes with the bread?
The very best item, in my opinion was the other states we shared..oh my gosh..I could eat that stuff every day all day...creamy... and I mean rich and creamy polenta with fungi aka mushrooms sliced up in a dark brown gravy...very similar to hearing mashed potatoes with a steak gravy..but better!
The least favorite entree....even though it was very good..was the lasagne "favorité" style. It had more than enough 'juice' and could have used more substance..pasta and meat/cheese...still, as i said, quite tasty. The other items were just more unique..
So..gnocchi..the lemon pillow ones with black truffle, walnuts, and more..really delicious, garlicy..small in quantity.but rich. Yum!
.Next..fettuccine primavera with white wine cream sauce and fresh vegetables..spinach , a bit of broccoli, zuchinni, mushroom and more.the serving portion was much larger but no problem finishing it..so good!
I think the last entree was the carbonara alla Roma..it was pasta with a creamy white sauce..very rich and bits of crispy pancetta..also a nice sized portion.
So...even though I wouldn't order that particular lasagna again, I would like to try the lasagne polenta..anything polenta really. Because the polenta and the other entrees were so good and the service was impeccable plus there are other items on the menu that call out to me, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fine Italian food and rate it 5 star.
In addition..there is: street parking out front, no booths, just tables, nice cloth napkins, good bathrooms inside, nice atmosphere...all adults when I was there but I'm sure children are welcomed, spic and span throughout, professional staff, pretty small dining room which probably fills up often so ...put this place on your list for great food and comfortable dining.
We didn't try the drinks or dessert..darn it...maybe next time. I don't live near there, but our relatives do. So I'm hoping we get to go back real soon..or even take something to go on the way home.
See you...
Read moreI avoid writing negative reviews. Restaurants hsve bad nights sometimes. But to serve a patron a meal that can only be described as inedible, and to then charge money for it, well, that deserves attention. I went to tre Pazzi trattoria last night for dinner. I was alone. Immediately I was made aware that all the open tables - there were five - were reserved. She finally seated me. The chill coming from several staff and wait persons was palpable. Finally a waitress came to the table. I ordered my entree and asked if it came with a salad. “Nope,” was her response. Not welcoming. She said it came with bread. Ok, that’s welcome. When the food finally came, I was shocked immediately. The “bread” was a rock hard chunk of french bread that was burnt. No exaggeration. Plus, it was heated in a microwave. I tried to bite a piece and it dislodged my denture! So I reluctantly turned to my entree, Carbonara. It looked bad. I put my fork in it to test it and could tell immediately that it, too, had been microwaved. Steaming hot, grease on the edges from overcooked cheese, and thick and dense. I tasted it. Absolutely disgusting. Something in it had turned. Or was old, like the prociutto. I asked for my bill. Nobody said a word to me. They wanted me out of that table. Not “How was your meal? Was everything ok(obviously not; I took one bite)? Can I get you something else?”. Not a word. Ive worked as a waitress for many years, many Italian restaurants up to fine dining. That was by far my worst experience in a restaurant. This restaurant - tre Pazzi trattoria - was abysmal. The waitress showed a shocking display of disdain. I won’t go back and I share this to warn others, especially if you are...
Read moreMy wife and I went here on Saturday night for dinner. We came in to mostly reserved tables and the few tables that weren't reserved were crammed together in the center of the already small restaurant. After being offered to eat outside on a hot summers day we said we'd like to eat inside. The host looked anxious and had to seek a server on where to possibly seat us.
After the staff huddle we were seated at the center tables closest to the bar. The seats were decent but the table was too small. With the silverware, napkin, 2 sets of glasses, bottle of European water, and the salt/pepper shakers it just all made the table feel cramped. Adding any additional personal items you carried in with you would be ill advised because there is absolutely no room on the table.
After trying to decipher the authentic menu we were ready to order. I ordered the gnocchi and my wife order the linguine with clams. In the meantime we had to listen to the excessive yammering of the table next to us (the space between the tables seems about 12 inches or less). Not only did we have to hear every detail of their conversation, we actually got to see them eat before us even though we had ordered way previously)
The food came and it sure smelled delicious. My gnocchi was delicious but was a portion I would feed my child. My wife's linguine and clams were bland but it did come with a good amount of clams for the size of the bowl. We didn't get desert and by that time the restaurant was uncomfortably packed to where we just wanted to leave. I ended up needing to pick up Chipotle shortly after leaving the restaurant because of how hungry I still was from the...
