I had to take my 78 yr. old mother to ER by ambulance, for possible stroke, on 9-19-15 approx. 10 pm. The wait was un-called for, they were not busy. We stayed in the ER department for 22+ hrs. waiting, seen one doctor in a twelve plus hours overnight. No monitoring overnight. It seemed like a social gathering of nurses and doctors, we use GRU for doctors appointments on a regular basis, several departments for more than 25 years. The security if a joke, young ladies and fella's gossiping, look like they would cry with a broke nail. Not until I requested to take her somewhere else 12 hours after arrival, did we get some attention. I have family and friends that work in ER departments there and elsewhere all say it was un-called for. It took a great toll on us mentally and physically. GRU has saved my mothers life a few times thru the cancer clinic, but the ER dept. has always fallen short, and apparently always will. Highly disappointed...Stop wasting money on name changes, and focus on patient care and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis school is the reason I dropped out of college, as a math major taking only one core English course it should have been just a simple English 101, but apparently someone forgot to tell my teacher that as she thought she was teaching advanced creative writing class. Each student was given a picture (mine was that of a red SUV in the middle of a field) and told to write 5 pages on how it makes you feel... As a purely mathematical mind I had quite a bit of difficulty completing this assignment, staring at this picture for hours on and and being unable to "feel" anything... I eventually caved and met up with the teacher after class and proceeded to ask for a new assignment, being unable to "feel" anything while staring at this SUV in the middle of a field... The teacher ignored my request and pleas for help which eventually made me feel inadequate for college life as I was unable to complete the assignment and later dropped out. Thank you Augusta State for ruining my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy experiences here have been stellar. I canāt speak as a resident, however as a student Iām a huge fan of Augusta. Iāve had nothing but professional and resourceful experiences with the admissions staff. The campus is expansive, clean, and beautiful. During a visit, I noticed a quiet calmness about the campus. Even during class changes, it wasnāt very loud. They have study rooms in the library. Three floors total. The campus has a mixture of very modern facilities and old buildings. Itās a nice way to remind you of the campus heritage. The students are incredibly kind, with a massive amount of diversity. I was unsettled by the fact that the residence halls were not on campus. In fact, theyāre almost 15 minutes away. They do have very active transport about the campus. The medical college is close to the residence halls so itās a nice reminder for the premeds. Overall, a very nice facility with typical and above average professors. The staff are so nice and always...
