I paid $430 to have my Mac book air screen replaced (with an aftermarket product) 5 days ago. The battery went dead and I picked it up by the corner of the screen and keyboard and placed on the charger so that I could keep working. The screen would not turn on because it was cracked. Pwr on refused to fix it under the âlifetime warrantyâ although it appears to be defective screen and on top of that the seal was already coming off (again itâs only been 5 days). I paid via Venmo in order to save the cc fee and now I am stuck with a broken laptop, cannot take it to Apple bc they no longer have my original part (strange itâs only been 5 days including sat&sun) and I am out $430. They offered to replace it for $300 plus tax and waive the labor. I could have bought a brand new Mac book air for $899 and whoâs to say it will not break again in a couple of days. Also, it should be noted that I original chose them because they had good reviews and my laptop was suppose to be ready the next day by noon (it actually took twice as long), I was not made aware it was not going to be an Apple product until after I paid and I honestly didnât think about it much since there was supposedly a âlifetime warranty.â Consumer beware! At the very least donât pay via Venmo and use your credit card so that you can dispute it. The manager seemed to be an honest person and I did not overthink it. Photos show loose strip on the side and where I held the laptop by the top and bottom to move it to the charger.
Follow up: no maâam you did not offer an Apple product replacement. You says Apple was âfunnyâ about getting things with their logos and that the replacement part would not have the Apple logo since it was not an Apple product. I was never quoted an Apple product replacement nor overnight fee. I was told the laptop would be ready the following day by noon per YOUR text message below. â Hi, thank you for providing the model number! The A2337 screen repair is $389 plus tax and we can have the screen in before 12 tomorrow. The screen has a lifetime warranty and once the screen has been delivered it takes about an hour to repair.â
Again I did not crack the screen again. The screen cracked because it was either defective or installed incorrectlyâŚin addition the the seal is loose. Please refer to the picture. Again, I picked up my laptop on the 23rd and it cracked on the 28th-5 days later just because I held it by the corners when I placed it on the charger. I did not drop it, I did not hit it with anything, I didnât even apply a lot of pressure. It is defective or installed incorrectly and you refuse to standby your statement âThe screen has a...
Read moreI don't write many reviews, but I would not recommend them to anyone, especially anyone I know personally. My phone would not turn on or charge. Pwron charged me $80 just for a diagnosis and could not fix the problem and continued to tell me something was wrong with the motherboard and then proceeded to tell me the best they can do is data recovery for an additional $150-200.
I took my business elsewhere and another reputable repair shop solved the problem within 25 minutes telling me that my phone is missing multiple screws and there was an important screw that was loose and was the main problem to turn on the power and charge the phone.
The reputable repair shop replaced the screws, fixed what was needed and charged me half the price of Pwron. Their diagnosis was free and used authentic parts from the manufacturer, took them less than 40 minutes to complete the repair and I was on my way.
Pwron took a whole weekend just to tell me they cannot do anything other than data recovery. I suspect they took out the missing screws and didn't bother putting them back in thinking the phone was a lost cause, and tried to hold onto my phone and placed it in their closet while saying if I wanted them to do data recover let them know within 14 days otherwise it's considered abandoned and they will use it for parts, even though the phone was perfectly fine other than having missing/loose screw issues. I had to ask for my phone back to hold onto and took my...
Read moreI brought in an HP-Envy (laptop) to the shop for a malfunctioning keyboard with NUM keys unresponsive and CAPS lock being stuck ON. My intake was done by Amanda and she was extremely professional and patient as I was trying to explain all applicable issues and fixes I attempted. She walked through it all with me, answered all questions and gave me my pricing, expected order time and repair time up front. All was exactly as projected with no hidden costs or delays in work performed. She kept me informed of the status of my order and did a final walk through with me to ensure that quality of work performed met my expectations. Excellent opportunity to allow a top knotch smaller business a chance to perform above and beyond at a fraction of the price. It's also nice to be able to speak to an actual person as opposed to HP's wall of automated help desk options and fighting over warranty expiration and compounded fees. I will definitely be utilizing PwrOn repair for my other electrical devices here on out. There's no need to go...
