Wrong again. Although it is great to finally receive a response. I gave a “big” tip to the delivery employee who performed exceptionally, to include providing additional oversight over the careless helper. I gave a nominal tip to the helper after he apologized to me for the damage done to my home. An apology I received after the delivery lead told him to do so. Don’t confuse my ability to recognize hard work/humility with condoning your horrible service. I recently built a new home from the ground up. I utilized companies like Ashley, Potterybarn, Wayfair, America Furniture Warehouse, Etsy vendors, Military Exchange (AAFES) and Amazon to furnish/decorate most of my primary living spaces (my bedroom, dining room, living room, breakfast eating area, my office, front porch, and back patio). Needless to say, I've coordinated and experienced several deliveries since I recently closed on 26 OCT. I decided to use a local business, Davis Appliance & Furniture, to furnish four secondary bedrooms. Davis Appliance & Furniture is my ABSOLUTE WORST delivery experience, by far. The other companies took pride in the delivery process. Many of them sent me pre-delivery surveys to find out any special considerations/layouts of my home, they took pictures/videos of the items they delivered after they were properly set up, one of the companies even asked me to record an audio message stating that I received the item, was satisfied with the assembly and that it was an overall CLEAN delivery. And then there's Davis Appliance. After spending almost $15,000 over the course of two days, I am still waiting on a manager to call me back and explain how they are going to resolve an issue that occurred because of the negligence of a delivery "helper" affiliated with their business. When I attempted to speak to someone on the day of the delivery, the "manager" heard my complaint about the "helper" leaning against my walls and leaving stains, scratching the paint on my walls, and causing MULTIPLE dents on corners and walls and immediately responded with her "rebuttal". She displayed no interest in reaching the resolution that I expected from speaking with an office manager. Instead, she INCORRECTLY informed me that I did not pay the $20 fee required to deliver upstairs and then REMINDED me that I signed an agreement when I paid the $200 delivery fee that Davis would not be responsible for damage caused to my home or the furniture as a result of the delivery party. Call me naive, but after my previous experiences with extremely professional and careful delivery professionals, I expected a similar level of professionalism and carefulness from a local business. As a result, I did not hesitate to sign the agreement because I did not expect for Davis to utilize a negligent "helper" to support their actual delivery employee when they came to my BRAND NEW home. The actual delivery employee is exceptional and had he not been assigned this particular "helper" then I have full faith and confidence that the damage that occurred to my home WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED. I think it is disgusting that Davis is using this clause as a way to circumvent their RESPONSIBILITY to utilize qualified and professional employees to deliver items to their customers. I want to add that I have served in the Army for 20 years so far. This is the home that I plan to live in upon retirement. Which is the reason why I INVESTED in a custom and brand new home. It is horrible that I received such little appreciation of my investment from a local business. Especially when, literally every other company I worked with throughout this process, took pride in their goods, their delivery services, and the care of my home. I waited an entire week before I decided to leave this review, in the hopes that someone from Davis would call me with a proposed resolution. I guess they seem satisfied with their rebuttal and have no interest in contacting a customer who spent $15,000 in their store only to be thanked by a horrible delivery experience and an even more egregious "CUSTOMER...
Read moreI'm not one to write a review but considering how awful my experience with Davis Appliance was, I feel inclined to try and warn others before they do business with them. To begin, my dryer stopped spinning and since it was a very old model I decided I would go buy myself another one. A friend of mine purchased a used washer and dryer set from Davis Appliance and had no issues so I figured I would try them as well. I go in and a sales associate pointed me towards the used dryer section and I found one within my price range and I ask if it is an electric dryer to which he responds that it is. I go and check out and everything went smoothly and they told me they would deliver it the next day. Well, the next day comes and when it arrives, the delivery guys remove my old dryer and install the one I had just purchased the day before. I test out the dryer and it is not heating up at all. Turns out, they had sold me a gas dryer. I spoke with the sales associate who sold me the dryer on the phone and he apologizes for the mistake and tells me to come back on Monday and pick out another dryer. Monday rolls around and I go in first thing and pick out another dryer. They deliver it the same day and what do you know, this dryer isn't heating up at all either. I give Davis Appliance a call and let them know what is going on and ask that I just get my money back. Now, I feel that I must preface by saying that I work in customer service and I am never rude or nasty towards employees especially when I understand that it is not necessarily their fault my dryer is not working properly. However, when I spoke with Stephanie on the phone and asked for a refund she told me, "it doesn't work like that" and told me that they would first need to send a technician out to see if it was a problem on my end or theirs. I agreed and from then, I had about 4 different technicians in and out of my apartment over the course of a week trying to figure out what is wrong with the dryer. Every time one shows up, it's either they don't have the part to fix it or the last guy who was there, didn't leave the part they needed, etc. Basically, there seemed to be no communication between the technicians which ultimately caused them showing up to my apartment for 5 min just to realize they weren't prepared to fix it. At this point, I just wanted to be done with this ordeal so I gave them a call and asked to speak to the manager. I was able to speak with Claudia to try and reason with her and resolve the issues I was having. She came off as quite condescending which I did not appreciate considering I felt as if I had just thrown $350 down the drain. I was able to get nowhere with her and all she offered was to send another technician out to try and fix the dryer. A few days after this, a technician was sent out and as usual, the previous technician did not leave the part he needed to fix my dryer. He then told me that this dryer does not work at all so I was going to need to go back and pick out another one. I decided I had enough and gave Davis Appliance ANOTHER call and asked for them to come pick this dryer up. They then told me they could and to come back and pick out another one. When I told them that no, I don't want another one of their dryers, I would just like them to come get this one out of my apartment, they finally offered to come pick it up and to have my card refunded. So in the end, I was able to get my refund which I feel shouldn't have been this difficult to do considering all of the issues were on THEIR end, not mine. So, I only write this review in hopes they change their way of doing business and ultimately save another customer from the headache that comes with dealing with Davis Appliance. Oh and Claudia, when a customer is upset about an issue they are having with one of your appliances, it's probably best not to laugh at them and act as if they are ridiculous for expecting a used appliance to...
Read moreI have had the worst experience from this place. I purchased a refrigerator on April 15, 2022 and paid extra to have an icemaker installed. Refrigerator was delivered the following day with the wrong icemaker. I called Davis Appliance and they sent another service person out to put in the correct icemaker. He arrives and installs one. We asked if he checked to make sure it wasn't leaking and his response was he does this all the time and doesn't need to check and left. Upon him leaving I realized he did not put in the fill cup. I once again called Davis Appliances and the person I spoke with told me she would have to call me back. At 6:20 Saturday afternoon she had not returned my call so I called again to be told they could not find the part and would have to order it. She said it should be here on Tuesday. I told her that was fine but I would not be home until 5:30. The icemaker that was installed had not worked at all, I call on Tuesday to ask if they could have it looked at when the technician came to put in the fill cup and she said they would. I get a call at 3:30 that afternoon wanting to know if I was home, I told them no and that I wouldn't be until 5:30. The response I got was well I guess I'll take it back to the shop. To make things easier I called and asked if they could come out Friday anytime after 1 as I would be home all afternoon. Friday came and no one showed up. I was told after yet again having to call them that they were behind and it would be Saturday before anyone would be out. I told them that was fine but if no one was out by 2:00 I would be returning the icemaker and wanted my money back. She stated she would let them know. They showed up Saturday to put in fill cup and to see why the icemaker wasn't working. They never check out the icemaker, his response was the water was not turned on, when in fact it was. He said we should have ice in about 2 hours and left. Called yet again 2 hours later and was told we needed to give it until Monday and if was still not working they would send someone else out. On Monday afternoon Vince came out to install the fill cup that already been installed. Told him that was not what was needed the icemaker needed to be fixed as it did not work. He asked if anything had been order and I explained the whole experience we have had to deal with. It took him about a minutes to realized the icemaker that was install was the wrong one for the refrigerator we bought. He came back the next day and put in the correct one and within 2 hours it was working. Had any of the other 3 technician's actually looked at the icemaker we could had had this issue resolved a week ago. This was the second and last purchase I will ever make...
