I was an aviation major at UMA and could only deal with a year of it. The Aviation department is fairly new and while the flight school they are partnered with is very proficient the university side of things is still a mess which makes things very frustrating. There are no dorms which means that if you live outside of Central Maine you're basically forced to commute or find an apartment which is incredibly inconvenient. Student Life is practically nonexistent. You can get a much better experience for around the same price at Vermont Tech. I opted to transfer to the bigger more expensive aviation schools where there are better career connections, an actual campus life and residence halls.
