5 Star service from Jade - Perfectly prepared meal every time. we walked through the door, were greeted in a friendly manor immediately and we were taken right away to the same table that we sat at on our previous visit. We laughed a little and began looking at the menu. It wasn't more than a minute or 2 that our server Jade came. We didn't realize that she was the same server, but she knew us. Prepare to have your mind blown! Keep in mind, we came during a busy breakfast time a week prior and it was our 1st and only visit. This server said "did you want to do the Belgian Waffle combo again"? WOW! I couldn't believe it. Not only did she remember what I had, she remembered the side I got, the way I liked my eggs and even to ask if I wanted a separate plate for my waffle (as I had requested on one my 1st visit). I told her that she had blown my mind! She smiled and said "I really try!" She then asks my husband if he wanted his Breakfast platter (EVEN I CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT'S CALLED). Of course he did! Not only was she fast, friendly and have an incredible memory, but our breakfast came 100% as ordered and was delicious. 5 Stars for breakfast!
I bet it wasn’t 10 minutes and our breakfast came out piping hot and perfect. I could go on and on raving about the incredible talent of this young woman. Waitressing is tough and can be difficult if your head is not in the game, but I explained to my husband that you don’t “just try to remember people – even that is a lot of work” but the thought that she saw us ONCE, remembered our order and won a gold medal for service showed that not only was she GREAT at her job, she worked hard at it. This gal should be running a place, the only part that would be difficult is finding others like her. My husband, an electrician for the IBEW said to me “Could you imagine having an entire staff like her?” The concept was mind blowing.
I challenge you to go into your restaurant in Augusta ME and see for yourself. This gal should be training your staff and I’m willing to bet, if not yours…someone else’s. I want to recruit her myself. She is absolutely the best I have ever met. I took time to write this letter because she is worth noticing and I want to be sure that you know that.
I was so impressed by her that this time, we skipped the charity giving and left her a $20.00 tip on our $25.00 meal. Never, have I ever felt that compelled to leave that large a percentage for a tip (for me anyway) and write a lengthy letter to sing her praises.
I am more than happy to chat with someone or do anything that I can to help you with regards to my experience. Not only am I a happy customer, but I’ll spread this story every chance I get and my husband, who hated IHOP (Other Maine locations lack any means to make you want to come back), is now a loyal customer to IHOP in Augusta. We only want Jade M. to be our waitress and we plan on making a weekly trip out to eat part of our routine. IHOP Augusta I am certain, has set the bar for your restaurant chain.
Please let Jade M know that we think she is a Rock Star!! Thank you for your time and for hiring such a wonderful staff member.
Your loyal...
Read moreThis was the absolute worst service AND food I've ever received at a restaurant! I tried a few times to place my to go order on the app, but it wasnt working so I drove there. I brought my toddler inside with me and proceeded to place my to go order with the host. I told her I had a 20% off coupon I wanted to use. She wasn't sure how to add the coupon to my order so, she told me there was nothing she could do because the manager was helping cook. Another hostess comes over, I tell her the same thing, give her my order and she tells me she's going to grab the manager for me to fix the coupon. I stood there waiting with my 2 year old for 25 minutes. The whole time the waitress is waiting tables and doesn't get the manager. She comes back over and then again says she's "going to get the manager." After waiting another 20 minutes I had ZERO patience left. I told them to forget about the coupon and just place my order. My $70 dollar order. She said it would be about a 20 minute wait. I go back out to the car to wait. 1 HOUR AND 40 MINUTES is how long it took for our food to come out, and I really, really wish I would have taken pictures to go with this review so everyone could understand just how terrible it was. Not a single thing was made right, everything was missing something. I might as well have gone to my bathroom and flushed $70+ down the toilet! They didn't even get our milkshakes right! One chocolate, one oreo. Not hard, right? The worst part? The MANAGER was supposed to be the one cooking! I worked several years as a waitress, I know it gets busy and people can be difficult.. but this was on another level.. and there were 2 other couples who walked out unhappy as well. The woman from the older couple I saw said "its slow and the foods cold.. what a waste" Whoever owns this place, I'd highly suggest getting a new manager and training your...
Read moreMy daughter and I were spending the day together on a Monday morning and decided to have breakfast at IHOP, since we hadn’t been there yet. When we got there it was pretty empty, there weren’t a lot of people and a ton of empty tables. At first the waitress seemed friendly and calm but once we ordered our food she started to become very frazzled. We opened our silverware and found that both of our spoons had food on them. We asked for new spoons, which took a long time to get. Our food seemed like it was taking a long time to come for the amount of people that were there, the waitress came back once just to tell us that our food was going to take a long time because there was a large party ahead of us. Once our food did come it was not what I ordered. There is a friendly chart to tell you how to order your eggs, so I ordered my eggs over medium. I order my eggs over medium at EVERY restaurant. I cut into the white of my first egg and all of the raw white came out across my plate. Needless to say I didn’t eat that one. I didn’t want to make a big deal because perhaps it was just an oversight. I went to eat my sausage and bit into a hard piece. It was harder than normal gristle you find in a sausage. I also had two pieces of bacon, they were both barely cooked, no crisp to them at all. When I had asked for extra powdered sugar my waitress said ‘I’m very busy it will be a while’. Once we got up to pay I noticed that the restaurant hadn’t gotten any busier, there were still a ton of empty seats. I went to the counter to pay and waited several minutes before somebody came back to take my money. The waitress made change out of her apron, I asked her for more ones, she sighed loudly and said she’d have to get her manager. I said never mind; I considered leaving no tip, but I left 10 percent. (That’s all...
