Watanut — Local services in Augusta

I ordered a gift for my sister. The order was supposed to go to her address in Indiana. I’m not sure what specifically went wrong, but the shipping address (when I checked the order confirmation immediately) was wrong. I immediately called watanut to correct the problem and received a voicemail that had a full mailbox and therefore would not accept my message. I then left numerous emails with no response. I finally called a local news station that had featured this business on their broadcast. That’s when I received an email from the owner of watanut apologizing for the error and he would immediately send the merchandise to the correct address. That was five days ago. My sister has not received anything and again my emails are not being responded to. I was charged for the gift basket that was sent to me in error. I’m planning on returning the basket as soon as I’m out of quarantine. I do not eat pecans otherwise I would just go “se la vie” and be done with it. It gives me no pleasure to write this review. I went to Watanut for the first time yesterday and was very disappointed. For 2 tiny ice cream cones with very icy ice cream and a package of 8 simple notecards, my total was over $50.00!!!! I didn’t purchase the notecards and my total went down to $12.00. It took about 5 minutes to scoop each cone because the ice cream was rock hard. We were given free samples of 2 types of cookies which were super stale. I can say they had adorable golf gifts and we didn’t try the nuts so I can’t speak for those. I went in here a few weeks ago to look for a gift item, and the minute you walk in this store - you are hit with the most amazing "fresh cookies baking" smell in the whole world. It smells. . . SO good in there. They have lots of great varieties of nuts and chocolates, and everything i have tasted from the gift box was absolutely delicious. The owner is nice and friendly.
