Kinki Sushi — Restaurant in Augusta

I absouletly love the food here! I would not say anything bad about that. I've been looking for a good sushi place and Kinki WAS IT! Recently, I was a customer there and was so amped up to have my favorite sushi. I cam in with my daughter and noticed that there was a different cashier and cooks. I wasn't worried by this. As I begin to ask the cashier questions about the menu she seemed to be incoherent and a bit annoyed. At any rate, my order was suppose to be $21 and change... The cashier charged my over by $30 because she pressed a 5 instead of 2. After, I noticed this I bought it to her attention. She was nonchalant about to the ordeal and told me she would refund me the partial back on my card. I had never heard of such. So I called my bank. The bank stated that I should wait a few days until something came of this. It's a couple days and the $51 and change charge is still there. Ugggh

I contacted the manager who seemed to not be that concerned but took my info. I just called and the same cashier picks up. She tells me to hold while she gets the manager. Comes back to phone and says , Oh, he left. This irritates me and I ask her was she the one that overcharged me the other day (refreshing the situation to her) and she says no ma'am. Clearly it was her and therefore here is the review.

Again, the food is yummy and I can't take that away from them but that cashier needs training 101, etiquette 101 and customer...

This is the best place to go for chicken teriyaki! My mom and I go here all the time when we’re on this side of town. I always get the chicken teriyaki with extra vegetables which is just zucchini, and extra teriyaki sauce. Sometimes I switch it up and add shrimp. I never had a horrible or bad experience since I’ve been going here for about 3-4 years. I haven’t been in a couple of months but every visit I have is swift and fulfilling. Also, if you call in, they take your order quick and it’s ready within 15 minutes. And I love their California rolls. You also get a good portion of food for the price you pay which is even better because it’s really inexpensive. My mom and I would pay NO more than $25. We would get the chicken teriyaki meal including drinks. You do get what you pay for and the taste and portion size...

This is NOT your typical sushi experience. I had heard plenty of locals rave about this place but TBH I don’t get the hype. The prices are not that great, the rolls were poorly formed and falling apart, the sushi rice dry and and tough.... I LOVE sushi and have eaten sushi all over the world..... this is not a place I would ever come back to. The only reason I didn’t deduct more stars is because the salmon was perfect and although poorly cut with a dull knife (results in jagged edges on the fish, can also indicate fish is not cold enough for slicing), it was very fresh.

If you are expecting a sushi experience, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for quick take out that is a step above what you would order from a Wegman’s sushi counter, this is for you.

Overall, I would NOT recommend this...
