Best place within 20miles to come play this game we love. Ownership changed hands sometime ago, and it may even have been as long as 5 to 10yr ago, shoot i dont remember but I havent anything bad to say about him and have only had good interactions, the owners name is Michael, and on certain weekday afternoons they will run a luncheon for a local seniors group of like 20 to 30 people they serve food too. My father and I came in on one such after noon and Mike personally helped rearrange to the tables they had set up for the party to help me and my father get room for the only available 7footer Diamond smart table that was open. So I've seen him as a nice guy ever since.
The food is really something if you order the right items, I havent tried everything, but the burgers, BLTs, and even just fries and their honey mustard are delicious.
Service is always helpful ladies, they remain helpful even when they have 20 patrons at the bar and people at ten different tables have put in food orders, let me tell you, some of those nice women can COOK. And it's usually smiles at the door from them, havent ever had anyone not be as accommodating as they could be especially during peak hours.
Go there enough and you'll recognize their faces and get to know their names, my personal favorites are Jess, she's just super sweet to deal with. And they have 2 or 3 women who are a bit older(wish I could remember their names but anyone there long enough knows who I'm talking about) that know how to run a hall at max capacity. Talented shift leaders is what it looks like to me.
And, within the last Six months or so, I can tell the owner had been dropping some serious $$$ into updating the playing equipment. All of the 7 footers and going on all of the 9 footers just got reclothed and are looking good. Also just recently updated his whole house cue selection to brand new sets of Havoc one pieces. The vast vast majority are still in great condition. We know where the wear and tear to house cues come from, people who come in to have a good time but don't know the game of pool at all (which is fine everyone has to start somewhere) but I wish some of our local players who don't have their own cues would treat the house cues better. They should be treated like its your cue while you're using it, not just some stick to slam around cause that's how tips get broken, and buttcaps on the cues come off. But as people learn the game, they learn to have that respect for the equipment.
So to make a long story short, love coming here to play on good equipment, get some delicious food from some nice ladies that run the bar and hall if the owner isn't there. I can recommend any wanting to learn to play pool can do it easily here, and if you are someone who's been playing for years they have plenty of comp play and league events. Love this place.
Side note: this has nothing to do with my review as I have been coming here for years before this, but I just recently won a 200ish$ cue and shaft that was raffled off. And its been my main player ever since. I dont know how often those raffles happen, but it isn't just some no name cue in there, I got a 2piece Dufferin valued at about 215$ or so online just from buying two or three raffle tickets over the course...
Read moreFirst time going and we went for the special of $15 a person on a Sunday 2-6. I was under the impression that you’d be grandfathered in if you arrived during those hours because nothing was explained otherwise upon arrival. We played from 4:30 to 7 and at 6 we were informed we would be transitioned to the “new” price. We ended up paying $75 for 5 games over 2 and a half hours. With the later shift bartenders apologizing for the earlier bartenders for not explaining the hourly rate for $5 an hour per person (which would have been $60) an hourly rate per person isn’t even mentioned in their website. When mentioned this, they conveniently couldn’t change the rate. The bartenders were nice at least while doing this. The floors (especially under the pool tables) were very dusty and the chairs look like they’ve never been cleaned. We also started on a table and had to move because it was so unlevel, as well at the beer not being cold (we tried two different kinds). We tried the chicken tenders and fries and they were fine, but if you’re looking for a good pool hall to actually play pool and not get taken advantage, find...
Read moreI usually like this place. On Tuesday night and at 7pm it wasn't too busy. I step close to the bar to order and a young lady acknowledged my presence saying hello... I wait till she finishes with another customer hoping she would ask me what I needed but then she moved to the middle of the bar and takes care of someone else. After a minute or two I decide to move to the middle of the bar to maybe get faster service. They again acknowledge my presence and then an older lady proceeds to tell me to move to the other side where she would take care of me. At this point Im not happy because I have seen other people taken care of... But well, I moved and gave her my order (half pitcher of Budlight), she comes back and says they are out and will check in the back... What they changed was xx (Dos Equis). I told her to not worry. A second after that my friend goes to the bar(same lady) and she pours him Budlight draft. Don't wanna put a name on it but just didn't feel welcomed as before. Im probably coming back but tonight 11.16.2021 was...
