This review is way over due. I should have done this a long time ago. My fiance and I live on a pretty tight budget and I happened to have my grandmother's most prized possession she gave me before she passed. A very ugly 1972 dinner ring with three carats worth of diamonds in it. I wanted to remove some of the stones and have it put into a very special engagement ring that was more of my taste.
My fiance and I went in here together, expecting to not even afford anything in there, luckily we had my grandmother's ring and my mother's old wedding set. Both were old school yellow gold which is not my taste at all. We started talking to Hailey who was absolutely fantastic. She showed us some different mounts, I tried them on and picked the one I wanted. She then went over the pricing of the mounts plus labor for taking the rings apart and putting the diamonds in the setting I wanted. Total cost of my engagement ring was $1800, even with a larger stone my fiancee wanted to add to the center as his own touch. The stone is amazing, it's straight out of Europe from 1850 so having a all this history in my ring is very sentimental to me.
I absolutely love this ring and the service we got was hands down phenomenal. We highly recommend Benold's to everyone. They even finished my ring within two weeks, just in time for our 5th anniversary. The customer service was incredible and Hailey was very understanding with our budget and how precious these stones were to me.
We will be buying our wedding bands from them and having my grandmother's pearls repaired here. They have our business for life. Thank you...
Read moreMy now-fiancée and I started ring shopping knowing basically nothing. We went to a handful of stores around Austin and had some decent experiences, but when we walked into Benold’s, everything changed.
Hallie greeted us and within minutes, she clearly saw that we were in over our heads. Instead of trying to rush us into a decision, she taught us. She spent hours walking us through the different types of rings, stones, settings—you name it. She was kind, patient, and genuinely excited to help us figure out what we wanted.
When it came time to pick the diamond, Hallie was awesome—she worked with me on timing to make sure the ring would arrive in time for the proposal I had planned. When the ring came in, the setting wasn’t quite right, but she immediately helped me come up with a plan so I could still propose, and then spent the next few months working to make sure the final design was exactly what we’d envisioned.
And here’s the wild part: when it was finally ready (and absolutely perfect), they apologized for the delay and didn’t charge me anything extra. I was honestly blown away. I was just happy it turned out right—but that level of care and integrity is rare.
My fiancée is obsessed with the ring. She gets compliments on it constantly and loves it even more than I’d hoped.
All in all, working with Hallie was hands down one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. She made the whole process feel special. If you’re shopping for a ring in Austin, skip the rest and go straight...
Read moreI had a wonderful experience buying a gift for my wife until I didn’t. After purchasing a gift for my anniversary, I immediately asked if they had more in stock. They didn’t, but would look into the item for availability. They later contacted me saying the cost for each additional item would be $500 more than the one I just bought because the price of gold went up. I was understanding, however shocked they didn’t want the sale or relationship with a new customer. Am I not a long term investment? Part 2. I went back to the store to have the item sized. I was told it would be faster to have the item sized rather than reordered. Seven weeks later, I got the item. When picking up the item, I was told they decided to order a new one rather than having the one I bought sized as previously discussed. Once again, I was understanding as the structure of the item would be compromised by being sized. I left the store very uneasy. I went back in to share my feelings. I also asked why the price of the item would be the same as it required less gold to make. I asked why they thought it was ok to order a new item without asking. Honestly, there wasn’t an answer that made sense or helped me feel valued. I dint ask for a discount. I didn’t ask for anything. I only shared my experience. I felt shined on at the end of this all. I don’t ever write reviews, but I am still saddened by my experience-especially because my wife loved the gift, asking for two more. Sadly, I don’t trust...
