We had Contigo do a passed appetizer (a compressed melon with jalapeno - sounds weird but so so good) before a buffet taco bar. We had a beef, chicken, and vegan option for taco fillings, in addition to rice, beans, salsas and other toppings. The food was really good. Then for the Welcome Party after, they had more snacks - quesadillas, chips and dips - and passed desserts - a tres leches cake shooter and a churro blondie that was gluten free. The blondie was seriously the best thing the whole night and so so good. They had someone on staff attending to myself and my now husband so we didn’t have to get anything ourselves if we didn't want to. If it were up to me alone, I would give a 10/10 but my husband and his grandpa are allergic to onions. We had stated this before creating a menu or doing a tasting. We were very clear that we could not have onions in anything but onion powder would be ok. A couple of days before the event, they emailed saying that all of the things had onion. At this point I was so busy with other things and trying not to stress out over some last minute family drama that I did not advocate for things the way I should have. I said the rice could not have onions in it. Unfortunately while the rice didn’t have onions in it, the staff on site didn’t get the memo so my husband’s grandpa didn’t really get to eat much. So while their gluten free options were heavenly, I think more complex/rare food allergies may be a bit trickier to navigate. Grandpa and husband both enjoyed the food they were able to eat and I was definitely far more upset about it...
Read moreWe hired contigo catering for our September wedding, which had about 50 guests. Catering was our highest priority for our reception, since both of us are extremely passionate about good food and cocktails. At first, we had a bit of sticker shock from the event requirements, but it ended up being worth every penny for Contigo’s attention to detail, luxury service, and more.
Lindsey was super helpful throughout the booking process, answering all of our questions, making adjustments to the menu, and organizing our tasting. Every Contigo team member we interacted with was very professional, and was super helpful when working with an event with lots of different allergies and dietary restrictions. The bartenders also did an amazing job, and we liked the signature cocktails from our tasting so much we ended up picking three of them.
We fell in love with the food from Contigo’s tasting, and it tasted even better on our wedding day. One of us works in food media, we had a few colleagues wholeheartedly compliment the meal – a rarity in wedding food. We did our dinnerware rentals through Contigo, and everything looked elegant and stunning on the rentals we selected. Throughout the wedding day our personal server, Grace, ensured we were taken care of all night long. We’d gladly recommend Contigo for a wedding or private event if it’s within...
Read moreWhere do I begin. Our relationship with Contigo Catering began strong as we prepared for our rehearsal dinner at Heifer International. Sarah was able to accommodate off menu requests based on our theme. We sent in the head count prior to the event for what guests were eating and at the rehearsal, the numbers were reversed. When asked why we ran out of fish (we ordered 28 fish and 9 chicken dishes), the staff said we only ordered 9 fish dishes. The groom did not get what he ordered. The rice was and meat were bland and all dishes had water sitting in the bottom.
I had to stop my event to scroll through emails to prove the mistake. We were informed we would be refunded for all 28 chicken dishes due to the huge error. When it came time to settle the bill (which we had pre-paid), Sarah then stated we would not be refunded for the full 28 dishes that were messed up. When asked why, she stated 9 were right and refused to hold up her end.
I enjoyed working with Heifer International, as this is their primary caterer, but refuse to recommend or do business with the based on our horrible experience with...
