This is a quaint little H-E-B and I do mean little. It is small it is not an H-E-B plus and that being said there are quite a few items that they do not carry at all because the store is so small it's great if you live in the neighborhood it's close if you live in the neighborhood the prices are a little heftier than in other parts of Austin and the parking is quite odd. They do have loads of security there so you will feel safe going to your vehicle. The parking lot is VERY poorly lit. The Sushi assortment is spot-on for a quick grab-n-go. But, unlike the larger locations. They don't offer separate souffle cups of wasabi, ginger, spicy mayo, seaweed, and/or calamari salads. I was looking for Large Butter (lima) beans. There's not even a place for them amidst the other bagged legumes. A plus side is the bulk-dried fruits, nuts, candy-covered doodads, and coffees. But once again I was looking to purchase chocolate-covered espresso beans as offered in the other locations. There's not even a location there for them anywhere on the shelves not even in the Pre-packaged Organics section. 6-7 self-check-out registers. And a fairly well-stocked/displayed floral department. Loved my boogie salad toppings. Couldn't locate any canned smoked oysters. I got there an hour before closing and the parking lot is so dimly lit. It’s kind of scary if you’re by yourself, I said before they do have security officers and off duty, I believe police i’m not sure if they were just working on the lights, but I will say that the patrol people do drive through the parking lot. Just try to park as close to the front as possible if you are worried.

Normally I'm one of the biggest HEB fans out there. But I recently encountered some problems when coming to this store to get my daily premade HEB chef salad. For the last week or so they haven't had any salads. So I asked a few employees at the deli why they hadn't been putting out any salads for the past few days. They told me that their warehouse hadn't sent them any for the last few days. I figure that's a pretty good answer, but a little odd. Because if you look on HEBs website they show 1. that the item is stock, and 2. the first thing it says in the description is "Made Fresh Daily in store". I also stopped over at the HEB on 51st the other day since I was in the neighborhood. And was shocked when I found they had salads, and was told by the deli workers that they in fact do make them in house each day. They also gave me a very bewildered look when I mentioned that the 7th St store claimed to get their salads from a warehouse. All and all I don't think it's a bad HEB but this whole incident has left a bad taste in my mouth.

I had 10 apples delivered, 3 were rotten. Finally, they brought 10 new and good ones for free after I called them 3 times. this is second posting. the following is previous posting. when shopping at this store, be sure to check your receipt. I am a long-time customer at this location, over a few decades. over the years, I have noticed that about 20% of the time, I am charged twice for the same item or over charged (mostly on produce items, or sale/coupon items). to get refunds, be sure to keep receipts, all the packages, etc. today, I returned to the store because they charged me twice for the same item. the man at the service desk told me there is no way the item was charged twice, saying those two items on the receipt had different codes. after some time, the manager figured out that it was the same item and I got the refund. it was an extra trip and time wasted and almost got called a liar. I usually don't even bother go back to get a refund to avoid unpleasantry.

During Thanksgiving week I came here to get a turkey and ham, and other thanksgiving things, due to my boyfriends job giving him a coupon/gift certificate for $25 towards the purchase of a turkey/ham. On the slip it said it could be taken to heb( and other stores) and his fellow employees took it to a heb with no issue. So, I go to this 7th street heb and check out. The cashier for some reason can't use it. She calls someone over. She can't use it. They ask me to go to the side to get a manager. I waited for like 15 min and a white guy (assuming manager)says that they don't normally get these and if they do they're fraudulent. I ask them to call the people since it says on the back that if the store needs assistance using it to call a number. He tells me well that doesn't tell them how to put it in their system so it can be used. So the lead cashier tells me they're going to get a lady to look at it. Don't know if this lady is a manager or what but they said they were going to get her to look at it. After another 15 min. this lady comes to me (think she was African with maybe light brown mircos) and shows me a phone with a coupon on it and says that this is what a real one looks like and they can't take mine. Now I'm getting upset because I feel like they think I made a fake 25 DOLLAR COUPON since this is the second time they called mine fake. Like are you serious right now? All this hassle for a $25 fake coupon!?? Why not 100? Smh so I told the lead cashier girl that I still wanted to purchase my other things but won't get the turkey and ham. They opened a closed lane for me and put the turkey and ham to the side. Then the lady with the micros comes to finish checking me out and to add injury to insult asks me if I was not purchasing the turkey and ham! Like no, I can't use my dang coupon so apparently not!!! The hell. I just shook my head no and left. Sat in the parking lot and basically had a breakdown knowing I couldn't get my turkey and ham for Thanksgiving. I felt so low and little because of this situation. Made me feel like a criminal. I will never come to this...

Update #3: Still an ADA nightmare. Update #2: And....nope. This establishment is still a complete and utter A.D.A. nightmare. Update: Still, NO CHANGE. I had to go inside for a pharmacy pickup, tried to grab s few quick items, which were not in stock. I had to fight my way thru the tower-carts just to find empty shelves. Original Review: This HEB is usually out of stock on everything I intend to purchase. The shoppers for the curbside pickup & delivery orders are very haphazard & completely careless as they tow around those gigantic tower carts they use to shop orders at all hours of the day. This is especially frustrating during peak shopping hours when the store is crowded with shoppers, and at least 2 dozen of those giant tower carts blocking aisles throughout the store. It is even worse if you have to use the electric handicap buggy to shop because between the order pickers & pallets dropped in the aisles during store hours, it's dang near impossible to safely navigate through that joint to round up even the simplest of grocery lists. Sad story. That is why I mostly order my groceries from Amazon Fresh these days. Replying to HEB: I'm not going to call to ask you to look into an issue that is ongoing, and so horrendous that it makes me not want to shop in your store anymore. I have clearly explained the issue...so deal with it or don't, that's your call, but I won't be shopping there until you do something to...
