Today I had a super frustrating experience trying to exchange an item. I had purchased a jacket about 2 weeks ago, tried it on once and realized it didn’t fit. It sat in the bag I purchased it in until today when I wanted to exchange it. However during my interaction I was told by the cashier that I couldn’t return the item because it had “hair” all over it and didn’t have the tags. I showed them that the receipt stated you had 90 days to return an item as long as you had the receipt and it didn’t mention anything about needing tags. I handed them the tags nonetheless and when I inquired about the hair, the cashier struggled to find a hair to point out “explaining” that the jacket was not re-sellable in the condition it was in. I was in shock of the lack of communication and immediate dismissal and left feeling super frustrated and angry. Not to mention the item I wanted to exchange it for was higher priced and long run probably would have generated them a higher profit. I most likely will not be shopping at hobby lobby anymore especially since I can get the same items elsewhere. I have included a picture of the jacket right after my experience. There is some fuzz and I am happy to admit that, but nothing that didn’t collect from sitting on their self’s for who knows how long and nothing that I would deem not re-sellable.

I love that the Hobby Lobby has a new location in South Austin! Just in time for Christmas with an endless supply of holiday spirit and items to spice up every home. It's almost unbelievable that they can have so many aisles and rows and shelves of Christmas items and surprisingly it's all really cute and welll put together. I got my Christmas tree there and tons of knickknacks and wall hangings. The smell is absolutely amazing with tons of candles and a sweet cinnamon fragrance throughout. The staff is extra cheerful and upbeat bringing a positive vibe to the whole place and makes every guest feel in the Christmas spirit on these gloomy November and December days.

Jacob in the framing department was incredibly unprofessional. I was told my order would be ready in a half hour, I came back 45 minutes later and it wasn’t done, I left and called the next day and was told it’d be ready in an hour then, when I came in an hour later it still wasn’t done and I had to wait another half hour. He kept saying he was tired, he just got on his shift, he was the only one there, his brain wasn’t on yet, etc. Once I got home I realized 1 of the mats was cut incorrectly. They’re clearly understaffed but employees should still give accurate wait times. I wouldn’t recommend Jacob staying in a customer-facing position

Great place!!!

Love the frame department. You can take in your art, they will help you pick a awesome frame they can customize/measure, and they offer museum grade glass!!! Pretty cool. 😎

Also be sure to ALWAYS go to Hobby Lobby . Com to use the 40% off coupon. I got some bada** rustic country looking frames for my office for cheap with that coupon!!

Main complaint on today’s experience is the cashier/customers lol. We are talking slow moving cashiers with customers debating price, coupons, discount, etc, etc, etc On multiple items ... COME ON PEOPLE!!! When I just want to check out with one item, but it takes 10 minutes plus cuz of high maintenance customers with slow moving cashiers it’s exhausting from a patients stand point. Maybe they should have a 5 items and less line or a self check out line if you keeping it simple idk. I almost walked out and just left my item on the counter ... or I sometimes debate to just leave more cash on the counter, get no change, and walk out

Other than that...

Hobby Lobby is both the best and worst that a hobby shop can be. Almost every hobby is represented in their selection, but few have much depth available in stock. As always, the employees were pleasant and willing to assist when asked, but had limited knowledge in answering questions. I went to look at two areas: candle making, and model trains. There were no wicks appreciate for 3.5+ inch beeswax candles, and no cylinder molds available for a narrower diameter (which would have been the next best thing). In the train department, there were 3 HO scale train sets (more than the last time I had looked) each with a circle or oval of track included; however there wasn't enough additional track to create even the simplistic additions pictured on the train sets. I am very glad that we have a Hobby Lobby, and I support them when possible, but the truth is, the feeling of hobby shops of yore, where enthusiasts came together to share expertise and learn, is...
