The moment you open the door, the scent of old books and furniture polish greets your senses. Plates, cups, jewelry, books, old desks and lamps are tastefully if not precariously arranged and woven in and around each other, presenting one with a sensory overload of beauty and craftsmanship. Mr. Whitehead, the proprietor was available but not intrusive, and was pleasantly attired in tweed and corduroy slacks. He fit in perfectly. A Mahler symphony provided a low key soundtrack to our little voyage of discovery. We left with two Delft style cups and saucers, which we found quite reasonable.
