Summary: Poor execution, very bad value for the cost, but excellent flavors.
I was very excited for this place, as I enjoy more traditional pho broths and we don't have a place in Avon for that. The good: pho broth is excellent and flavors of the pork in Bahn Mi and noodle bowls was excellent.
However, there is so much wrong here that I will not be going back for quite some time. Main issue: not enough... of anything. Bahn Mi had an incredible flavor profile, but there wasn't enough stuff filling it. Lots of bread, minimal meat (which isn't necessarily an issue with bahn mi if there's enough other stuff, but), barely any shredded carrot, cucumber and sauce. You basically eat mostly bread. Add just 50% more fillings, and this is an incredible bahn mi.
Pho: broth is great, but so skimpy on the noodles and meat. Meat actually wasn't too bad and could be overlooked, but the noodles? Non-existant. I shouldn't have to pay for more noodles just to get a meal. Noodles cost next to nothing. Give your customers more noodles with the basic order. It was so bad that I only needed 1/3 of the broth to eat the pho. It wasn't filling either. Pho should be a meal, not a side dish.
Pork Noodle Bowl: seriously was all lettuce. Yes: the noodle bowl had a very thin layer of noodles, and was filled in the bottom with mostly shredded lettuce. Flavor? Fantastic. However, I didn't buy a pork salad bowl. I ordered a pork noodle bow. Fill the bowl with noodles. Their so cheap!
Ordered a boba, and all the boba were stuck together in a single clump. Overcooked and not mixed with syrup post-cooking to ensure they stayed separate. Boba tea was way too thick and almost syrupy as well.
Overall, bad value, poor food execution. I almost think they are struggling and trying to make their ingredients stretch. That's my guess is they are rationing. Don't think this business will make it long term. If they are still around this fall, I'll try it out again to see if they've...
Read moreFor a place that advertises as “Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine” its kind of a joke, the food is very white washed. The food tastes good as a regular sandwich or a spin off fresh spring roll but I don't know if the owners of this restaurant have ever had authentic Pork Banh Mi or Fresh Spring rolls in their life. Its like an American spin off, there wasn’t any daikon in the sandwich, the carrots are grated small not crunchy at all, the bread is definitely not Vietnamese bread, just regular bread, they didn’t even know what patté was. The “FreshSpring Rolls” were filled with lettuce instead of cabbage, and again with the grated carrots, and hardly any noodles, the “sauce” for the rolls tasted like apple cider vinegar salad dressing not a peanut sauce. l asked for extra veggies on the sandwich... I can only imagine what it would have tasted like without asking for extra because for the size of the bread in comparison to the filling.. I was disappointed. If you want Americanized Vietnamese food this is the place for you. Don’t get me wrong the food doesn’t bad but it’s not “Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine.”
Customer service wise the staff was very friendly and happy, the place seems very clean and has a very calm...
Read moreFirst time giving this place a try. There’s nothing authentic here about the pho. They serve pho in a plastic bowl, probably add warm water into the bowl, place a top over it to let it sit. You can buy pre package pho bowls at your local Asian market or on Amazon. The pho broth that was served to me was luke warm and had no flavor at all. Other restaurants in nearby towns and city that offers authentic pho taste 100x better. I am also not in favor of placing my order through a kiosk. The concept of combining a Vietnamese restaurants & kiosk just doesn’t work for me. Their Vietnamese ice coffee did not taste like authentic Vietnamese ice coffee either. In fact it was horrible, took a couple sips and ended up throwing it out. It was my first time and will be my last time. Reviewers giving 4-5 star pho rating here probably has not ventured out to the surrounding towns and tried pho at other authentic...
