Food Lion — Local services in Ayden

Only reason I have to give Foodlion a 4 star review, is solely because they seem to have issues keeping things in stock. I realize that things can be hard to get. However, most items that are short stocked are Not items that people Hoard from the Pandemic. Otherwise, the Foodlion stores that I use (3 different stores around my area), have been clean, mostly well stocked, professionally managed. The members of the staff have always been extremely helpful and professional. One couldn't have a better experience with the services they offer, the Insta-Cart option for Foodlion "To Go" orders have been an extreme help for me as a Disabled person who has difficulty walking and picking items up. The shoppers who pick my items have been very communicative when shopping for items on my list, and offering options for replacements. I appreciate everything Foodlion has done to provide for everyone during this Pandemic! Highly recommend this Chain...

I don’t usually do this, but it felt wrong to keep silent. I just checked out at this location. While I was at the self checkout, a slim Caucasian lady with brunette hair did not acknowledge me while I was checking out and when I needed assistance. She fixed the error at the machine, but she did not speak to me. She didn’t even speak when I spoke to her, but she immediately spoke to two other Caucasian customers that needed assistance. That’s not all, an African American guy was moving past me when a male Caucasian coworker said something to him. I couldn’t hear what was said, but the African American guy told him to stop. The other guy laughed and kept repeating what the guy had said and I found it to be rude. If I can help it, I will not be returning. I’m calling the food lion in Ayden since it’s closer to us and try to order a cake or to even see if they are still making cakes.. no answer. Ok maybe there busy, I call again in a few minutes. Nothing.. It gives me options of who I’m trying to reach so I choose customer service instead of deli. No answer.. I tried 4 times already! And no answer. Now..... there has to be someone available to answer the phone since everyone else is in home quarantine. So I tried calling food lion directly and still no answer. I’m just amazed of this whole situation. I’m not mad because I know other stores can make the cake. But I’m just disappointed because it would of only took about 3 minutes or less to answer a question or for me to order a cake.. this place was my first choice. I guess...
