World Market — Local services in Bailey's Crossroads

This World Market is close to me and a place that I like to go to as they have more unique options than the other more mass production stores even if the prices are higher. That being said I have had it with bad customer service. I bought a mirror (heavy one) online and got the pick up confirmation. When I arrived I called and they told me they do not offer curbside pickup. I parked went inside and noticed that there is actually a sign hung up with 'we offer curbside pickup'. A young girl came to ask me what I needed and I told her that I was there to pick up an item bought online but had to come in and get it as someone on the phone told me they no longer offered curbside service. She totally ignored me and asked what I was picking up. I told her a mirror. She could not find it so she asked this tall young man with glasses if he could help. He found my mirror and put it next to the registers and gave me a form to sign. While signing the form I spoke to him and again repeated the fact that I did not receive the curbside service and maybe he should let his staff know. At this time he also decided to just ignored me and simply walked away. Yep, he literally just walked away...did not even bother to wait for the paper I signed. Ughhh I am done with bad service. I managed to lug the mirror to my car and bring it home. I am done with stores with bad customer service! Homegoods and even pricier ones like Westelm have such amazing customer service that it is worth...

A low review because of lack of stated availability of products rather than poor customer service. I placed an order for Store Pickup, then went in several days later. The order could not be found, which is frustrating in itself, and made doubly more aggravating when both the website (on my phone) and the internal store inventory program stated there are numerous items to fulfill the order in stock, but they could not be located. I was issued a refund and then ordered the item online a 2nd time after conscripting my dad, who lives about 100 miles away, to pick up it up at his local World Market. About 24 hours after ordering (and being told there were 5 in store), I received an email cancelling the order because the item is out of stock. Which annoyed me on behalf of my dad because he was in the car, en route to the store, when I received the email. So basically, do not trust the In Stock/Store pickup info as I was twice disappointed in very different ways. I understand it's the busy shopping season but neither I nor my parents regularly shop at World Market and this experience ensured we will not become frequent customers.
