Okay, this is an updated review. I tried three times (what can I say? I'm pregnant and craving bagels!). I'm reducing from two stars to one. I need to find a new bagel place along my route. The manager needs to spend some time training the employees.
First, the employees need some basic re-training on how to prepare a simple bagel. A bagel toasted with butter is not complicated, but two out of three times there was barely any butter. The third time I asked for extra butter, for which they charged me extra, but the bagel itself was pretty much COLD! So, the butter was not melted and it was just gross. I had to take it to work and re-heat it but it wasn't actually toasted so it was just a soggy bagel.
Second, the employees need some training on what is on their menu. All three times I tried to order a coffee drink and the cashiers acted like I was speaking a different language. I was literally reading straight from their menu verbatim. They also did not put whipped cream two out of three times, the third they informed me they were out of it (at 8 in the morning you would think they would be prepped for the day ahead), and one lady handed me a drink with spillage all over the cup.
At first, I thought it was just a new person or they were under-staffed, but over the course of a few weeks I have been back three times and there have been different people but the same issues. The manager has some work to do...

(original review) I think they may have been understaffed when I came here. I usually love Einstein but this was not a good experience.
It took forever to go through the line with just two people on front of me. I ordered a bagel with butter and it had barely any butter on it. The cost for an egg on it is just ridiculous. I can get a cheaper breakfast sandwich with egg in the heart of Ballston where I work. I tried to order a caribou coffee drink because I used to love caribou until they all closed, but the lady at first didn't seem to know what I was talking about even though I was reading off the menu directly behind her, and then she didn't make the drink very well. She also handed it to me with stuff dripping down the sides so I got it all over my hands.
Tried again. Still...
Read moreAfrican American lady with a limp had an attitude as soon as I came in and then nodded at me and asked me “ you ready”? She never Acknowledged me when I came into the store she then proceeded to fold cups and the wraps and then when I looked away, then she started to stare at me and then when I finally gave her back eye contact she nodded her head and then asked” you ready “ This is stemming from Monday same African-American lady had an attitude because I didn’t ask for my bread to be toasted. She asked if I wanted it toasted and I told her yes and then she proceeds to tell me that it wasn’t on the original order. I told her I was in the car and it probably didn’t take but I wanted it toasted ;she rolled her eyes at me, and then she suddenly just was like upset , then she mumbled something and I asked her what did you say and then she wouldn’t answer I walked over to the counter a little bit closer & I said I’m sorry what did you say and then she still did not answer and she handed me the bag and asked what kind of chips do you want? I already had the chips because the other girl at the register had already given it to me when I paid. This girl needs to be in the back office stocking , cleaning, but she needs to be away from the public because she’s got the hardest face and the roughest attitude. The worst experience this week . Then she told me that she was not going to serve me.I called corporate and I will be talking to her manager at 6 AM tomorrow here at the Baileys Crossroads location in Falls...
Read moreGreat food when you get only what you ordered. Despite the typically friendly staff, they are very inefficient with the overall process to walk in and get your food. Even with to go orders, we often get everything bagels thrown in with all the other ones...nothing like bringing home breakfast for everyone and nobody wants to eat anything because my one everything bagel has bits of stuff all over their bagels (and I agree with the kids, cinnamon bagel with garlic chunks is gross)...or they were all sliced and/or prepared with some other overpowering spice /flavor of something else on your bagel. Ever since they got that new computer system years ago and changed around the overall process it has been miserable. We actually haven't been in about 6 months...not sure if it has changed but the family gave up hope and haven't been back. Nobody likes waiting 20 minutes for a simple surprise bagel either :( Next door Starbucks has inferior bagels and limited selection but the family prefers predictable OK breakfast regularly over the never ending surprise of what other bagel topping will be mixed in with the one...
