Please beware .. they sell fried crab cakes. As I was looking at one I noticed it was a label under it. It peeled the label back and that label that was covered was dated as packaged 07/24/24 and to be sold by 07/29/2024. Well today is 07/30/2024 not a big issue right? Maybe they made a mistake....but the label that they covered it with was dated as packaged 07/30/2024 and to be sold by 08/01/2024. It was discounted to 5.99. I showed the young lady who was frying the chicken .....I honestly can't remember her explanation but I do remember her answer to the solution "I'll just changed the date." It struck me as odd that she just wanted the package that I had revealed the underlying price on. As I walked away it didn't sit right with me. So I went back to see if she had removed the others one as well. NOPE!!! So I revealed the tag underneath and they said the same thing. To make this shorter I spoke with the manager Frank about it.....from his perspective .....they had to change the date since they discounted it, as a consumer I should know that that's the reason it was discounted and it's only 5.99. I tried to get him to understand that as a consumer I would believe the label that I see stating that it was packaged on 7.30 and would not assume that it was actually packaged 6 days prior therefore technically passed it's best by and sell by date. For him this was the end of the discussion because "I'm giving you the answer and what we are to do by law, you just don't want to hear it." Out comes the Deli Manager Stacey, can you believe it she accepted accountability that that was her fault and as soon as I brought it to their attention she corrected it. Kudos to her for accountability.....but the manager is still justifying what was done in error! Here's the biggest concern that I have, she says what she did in error was that she put the packaged date on there and should have left it blank....wow!!! Please check your dates people. Frank needs training on laws and food dates ....Stacey great job on...
Read moreI have been going to this grocery store for 18 years without a problem until yesterday. Not complaining that the belt was broken and I had to put my groceries close to the cashier to allow her to scan, but the cashier was RUDE. My daughter saw her roll her eyes and make a face at me because she said I got smart with her when she told me about the broken belt. I simply told her that I thought I was doing a good job....so she didn't have to reach at all. Still can't believe she perceived that to be "getting smart" with her. She didn't have to reach to scan my groceries at all. Once I paid I began packing my groceries in one of the bags I brought. I asked her if she could help me pack the other bag and then she looked at me with disgust and began to tell me it's an option. I then looked at other cashiers that were packing customers bags and pointed it out to her. I then asked if I needed to ask the manager and her response was she's right there. The manager was behind me and allowed the cashier to not finish helping me because she said she was "done with me and couldn't do this with me because this started 10 minutes ago when she told me about the broken belt". She then began to loudly tell the manager "I got smart with her about the belt" but added extra words to what I said previously to make it look and sound as if I was being rude. I told her she added words that I didn't say and that she rolled her eyes and made a face at me. She stopped bagging the one she started and flat out embarrassed me. The manager did finish helping me bag and apologized after I asked about the policy and allowed the cashier to keep talking about what I described. Before I left I told the manager that I've never had a problem in the past and said that the cashier lacked...
Read morelet me preface this review by saying i have been shopping at this establishment for nearly 35 years now. unfortunately, this business has changed for the worse. between the store being very cramped, very few cashiers working checkout, and the general disposition of customers who shop there, it stands to mention that if youve been there before, you know that you are shopping there for the savings or convenience of the location.
i feel that i should also say that in recent months i have actually felt unsafe shopping there, with pushy customers physically touching or grabbing me to attempt to pull me out of my spot in line twice, followed by security approaching me as if i was the aggressor. if you have an establishment with high customer volume the way they do at this store, it is important and essential to have adequate cashiers on hand. this business doesnt, these sort of issues arise due to negligence on the owners part in scheduling more cashiers.
to wit, the security work there seems inept in how to handle things like this. when customers get physical with other customers, it should not be tolerated in any establishment. apparently harvest fare does not care to have a stance on this. if you dont have security that removes people from your establishment for getting physical with other customers, can any customer...
