Went to the meat market with my daughter. She ran around, screaming at the blood sausage, potato sausage and various other meats in their freezer. Meanwhile civilized people were served quality cuts of beef and pork by excellent staff. There is a take-a-number system here, but I obliviously walked up up to the cash register with arm-fulls of meat from their freezers. Civilized people who were patiently waiting for their meats lolitlemy told me I was cutting in line. Even after all that they still have her a free hot dog and sold us quality meats. I love this place!

Oh my gosh!! This place is a carnivore’s paradise. Every time we walk in we lose our minds. By the end of the night I go into a meat coma. The prices are great for fresh cut meat. There is always such a great selection. The different flavors of brats usually does me in. Today we found the flavored bacon. That went on our next visit list. The customer service is always quick and spot on. They are so helpful, especially since we’re not meat experts. This is my go to meat market. Take my word and check it out!

Amazing selection of meat! Excellent daily specials! Their stuffed bacon wrapped chicken breasts are amazing, and all of their 25 flavors of brats are stellar! I recommend trying several different flavors and see which ones you like! Bought 65 pounds of brats last year (pictured), and 80 pounds of brats / chicken / bacon this year.

Both of my experiences have been really awful here. The first time the almost crushed my very small and extremely valuable suckling pigs out of pure airheadness- opening the door the the kill room allowing two huge pigs to ram there way into my smaller cage and nearly crushing my (extremely valuable) pigs to death. They then screamed prodded and kicked the larger hogs out (not without a struggle with 3 grown men) They ruined my crate, never apologized, didn't give me any discount on the pigs and tried to make excuses and defend there errors.

I did not want to return but my new regular processor didn't have a date for me when I need a couple of pigs processed. So...the second time they told me the right date but wrong day. Even though they knew it was me they ( the guys who's pigs they almost crushed) they denied allowing me to be 10 minutes late AFTER telling me the wrong day. Once again instead of compromising or apologizing the woman, Michelle, TOLD me what the gentleman I talked to said to me, which was wrong. She then said " you brought your pigs in last time on a tuesday didn't you?" as if I was supposed to remember there kill schedule from 4 months earlier, and the only time I went.

In addition to my personal experiences, the fact that they don't have separate stalls for animals, meaning your pigs, for example, are grouped with other unknown pigs, stressing them and allowing them to fight with each other, is a big factor. Finally seeing how they handled a pig in the wrong place (on top of mine in a small crate) by shocking, kicking and screaming is a definite deal breaker. Not only will I never bring my livestock there again I will go out of my way to encourage others to choose a different processor than the meat market in...

Hello from Lindenhurst IL!

My friend told me to try this place out so we went ahead and gave it a shot while we camp down the road a bit.

We were immediately greeted and grabbed a number. Sweet, we're up next. Gentleman asked us what we like in our cuts and was very helpful getting them just right.

Got back to the campsite and let the steaks rest for a bit with nothing but salt n pepper. Cooked them up to medium rare/rare and holy COW. We're talking cut with a fork. Buttery steaks that needed no seasoning; packed full of flavor of their own.

I have had steaks that were over 100 ala carte and these surpassed that quality in my opinion. I will be making excuses to drive 3 and a half hours to come here with a cooler soon. My stomach and taste buds are in Heaven.

Thank you to everyone working there! ...
