Purchased a 200.00 wind spinner from this Etsy shop. It was described and pictured as blue. It was bright turquoise. Decided it wouldnβt be worth hassle of returning, so purchased 30.00 of spray paint abd painted it Blue. After it was all painted went to box to find directions for assembly. There were no instructions. Tried to put it together could not make it work. Contacted seller, Michelle Glaser. She offered no apology for the wrong color, lack of directions etc. She emailed directions with this statement, βshould have been in the boxβ once I received directions I ascertained the problem. I should have received 4 spinner blades that go one direction and 4 that go another direction. Instead I received 6 that go one direction and 2 that go the opposite direction. I requested the seller send me two correct blades so I could make the spinner work. Alternatively, I found the exact same spinner at overstock for 100.00 less when I was googling for assembly instructions; I suggested she could refund me enough I could purchase the overstock spinner for parts. Then I wouldnβt be out the 30.00 bucks I had spent on paint. She responded β send pictures OR send it back!β Again no apology for the hassle this was causing me for a 200.00 product that was overpriced, not as described and defective. I sent pictures. I heard nothing. I sent her two emails. Finally she responded that she was creating a video of how to assemble, but guy helping her left and didnβt get finished.
This was completely non responsive to the defective parts. It was not an assembly issue which I had already told her. In the meantime I was out fooling with it and a neighbor stopped by. I showed him the problem and he though he could solder parts differently to make it work. I let him try to remedy it. He was able to fix it. Those blades had to be repainted and I bought him a case of beer. I requested a partial refund to cover the additional cost I was out over and above the sale price. She responded, βyou painted it, Iβm not taking it back.β
I do not believe Michele Glaser and the Red Shed Garden demonstrate honesty or integrity. The was Zero customer service. She clearly showed no understanding or concern that the item was not blue it was a bright turquoise. In addition to no directions, it had defective parts requiring a repair. In my search for instructions online I found the exact same spinner for 100.00 less. So in addition to selling something defective she marks her products way up.
Buyer Beware! I took the time write this because no other customer should suffer the consequences of buying from her. If you have a problem, you will receive no help. Donβt buy anything before doing a price comparison. I with I had. I wanted to support small business, it was the worst on line experience I have ever had. If I had done my homework, I would have purchased from overstock saved 100.00 abs received customer service to resolve a defective product. Never again. We spent $85 on two dachshund wind chimes. We gave one wind chime to my son and we kept one for our selves. Within two weeks the string and one of the chimes broke on my sonβs dachshund chime. My son and I live near each other and neither of us had high winds. If there were high winds mine would have broken too. The owner (I guess she was the owner because she would only communicate thru text and never identified herself) refuses to stand behind her merchandise and return my $40. That is I assume she wonβt give me a refund because she would not even answer my question about the status of a refund.
My advice is to stay away from this merchant who represents that she sells βwind chimesβ but she says now they should not be placed outside. Not to mention she would not speak to me on the phone to understand the problem. I have never dealt with a merchant who refused to pick up the phone and speak to me. Clearly she was not interested in my problem.
I love dachshunds but this product was made with flimsy string from Indonesia. I should have known better.
UPDATE: This merchant neglected to tell the whole story in her response below. She did not return my calls and would only deal through text. If she had looked at her phone she had my number. She was rude and would not return my money but her email is lovely now that I wrote several poor reviews on the Internet in several different places. I suspect that the person who wrote the response below is not the same person that was texting me. Now she wants to send me a new one or refund my money? My sister made the purchase and was told that all my mother would have to do is come in and state her name to get her card.nothing further was explained to my sister to relay to my mother on how to get her card or what to do. With this in mind, my mom was told to go in state her name and that she had a gift card for her. This is what she did and was met with hostility and unwarranted attitude as the red shed had no idea where my mothers gift card was without being able to explain or say how it was purchased. My mother stated that she was only told by us, who in turn were told by the red shed, that she needed to state her name. At this she was told to go speak to the manager. The manager berated my mother, told her not to have an attitude, which she didnβt have, she was just trying to get her a gift card and following directions, and told her that if she was going to have an attitude she could leave! Granted, we are the customers here and are only following the instructions that were given to us by this business. Itβs not our fault this place doesnβt have accurate recordkeeping of their gift certificates. Nor is it our fault that we werenβt given any further instructions to relay to my mother such as what information she should provide you guys in order to receive her gift certificate. Low and behold her gift certificate was found under her name!
