It's been rough trying to make ends meet. I was relieved when a friend told me about The Shepherds Market. This week fell in an especially tight budget week. Really a God send with this place falling bg into my lap. Relief of burden started to disappear. Me and my friend that told me about this place was in route to pick up groceries and even though we was out in the gloomy rain and the wet roads put us behind getting there. But we still was over joyed with our food blessing. I explained to the lady that met us at the door that the wet roads, because of the rain made us drive a tiny bit slower so that we could dive safely and the lady said that even with the rain and such and wet roads, becsue we showed up 3 1/2 minutes past 10:00.(3 1/2 minutes behind we could not receive our groceries. I pleaded with her explaining why we was only 3 1/2 minutes behind but that didn't matter. I explained how we really needed and depended on the groceries for the week, that didnt matter. This was my first experience with reaching out to charities for some kind of help. It's humiliating and embarrassing enough for some to finally ask for help through a charity as this. I've left The Shepards Market more humiliated than when I got there. As im walking away disappointed and extremely embarrassed she says she has an emergency bag and hands me 5 cans of blackbeans 5 or 6 tiny servings of raisins and a bag of dried dates..... It's hard enough for someone in need to find a voice to ask for help like this. I never expected to be treated so poorly as this Church/Market/this lady has treated me today. Nothing was accomplished. Still hungry and seeking some kind of help and twice ashamed about it now... Thanks...
