Waffle House — Restaurant in Louisiana

I went at 5am with my son & a friend. We are all from out of state & Google said they were open 24 hours. When entering, we were told by Diamond that they were only taking to-go orders so we walked out & stood in the parking lot looking for someplace else to eat. While standing there, the line cook (Tray) looked out the door & said he would let us dine in. As we walked back in the door, Diamond & another waitress (I didn't see a name badge for her) were almost yelling at him for letting us dine in. While we were there, Tray got our drinks, made our food, served us, & bussed our table. Diamond & the other girl did nothing but complain about being there, argued over who would clean the men's restroom, & bark at Tray for not getting our food according to the menu (he made too much bacon for our sandwiches). Maybe, had 1 of them done their job, as waitress, Tray wouldn't have made too much bacon. He didn't know the menu (nor did we expect him to) but we tried to honestly help him the best we could. The food was good & knowing the girls wouldn't help him, we scraped our dishes out into the trash ourselves & stacked our dishes nicely before wiping down our table from any mess we made. We did leave a good tip & told Tray to put it ALL in his pocket. I hope he listened because Diamond & the other girl didn't deserve once cent.

If you see this, Tray, thank you for all you're doing to help the customers there. Shame on...

This is a very mixed bag location. I love Waffle House. The servers and the food preparers are fantastic. Have never had one complaint about the food and never once had a server who was not super friendly. If it was just on food and staff they would get a 5 star.

That said the cleanliness or rather lack of any is disgusting. Trash is allowed to stack up on empty tables to the point that flies are all around the dirty dishes. Staff walk over and around trash on the floor. The grills and equipment look like they are not cleaned anywhere close to as often as they should.

I think the management at this location needs to realize how much this affects the perceptions of people walking in. For example the last time I was there I ordered Waffles and the extra that collects outside the machines were not being cleaned off and thrown away between orders. I watched over 30 waffles get made while I waited. Each time it just continued to collect. Grills were not being cleaned at all. Even just an effort to scrape off overflow into the greece pits would have been great. This all comes down to management not setting standards and having follow through with those that dont keep...

Horrible service ,,, I cant believe this brand new building has hired such lazy staff,,, on Nov 7th at bout 6:20am an employee was eating a big sandwich he probably made for himself , rite by the register where I had just ordered my food from , so I watched him ring people up , with his food near him by the register ,,,on top of that , I had two side orders which took 20 mins , there was an order AFTER me that took 10 MINS🤷🏽‍♂️, then toast the bread was also stale . Then another employee decides he is gonna scrub the floor while all the food is exposed , with dust an chemicals flying in the air, I alerted an employee she was trying to tell me that nothing is splashing on the food , I said mame , you don’t use chemicals around food PERIOD ….I hope this dosent happen to the rite person like the board of health which my spouse works for , I will be sending her there to do a pop up, so she can see what theese employees are doin in that new location that ain’t safe ….whos is the...
