Dollar General — Local services in Baytown

First of they dont have the items were they go. The had an 8 dollar sunscreen in the section of a 2 dollar sunscreen. My mom and I didnt find out until we were leaving the store , because she checked her receipt and it said 23.00 she wondered why it was so expensive and it was the sunscreen ! . We went back to the cashier and told her and she said to wait for the manager. About 10 minutes later she comes. And we got to her cashier and she was organizing the money putting it into the cashier. So five minutes later she gives my Mom a receipt to put her signature on. My mom being hispanic not knowing much english she asks her were do I sign and the manager snatches the receipt and screams on the bottom !!!! And puts in on a mouse pad . then she gives my mom her money very rudely, That woman usually is never in the store she is always outside smoking with an employee and the store is empty, anyone can go in and steal. plus the people that work there never last. they are all very rude except for some. This location is closest to my home, so I stop often for a quick trip. Unfortunately I realized after using their app, that on most trips, at least half the items ring up more than the shelf price. I mentioned it several times to the cashier, who's response was, "Yeah, a lot of customers complain about that" as she still charged the register price. The manager will not answer the store phone, so don't bother calling. I began taking a picture of the shelf price and requesting it at the register. Legally they must give you the lowest shelf price, check the milk, it frequently has 3 shelf prices.

Sure they offer good deals on their app, but often the price is .25 to $1 more than the shelf price. After mentioning the chips were over shelf price, as my friend says, you need to make a life decision on whether to buy a bag of chips or a gallon of gas, they totally quit putting shelf prices on the entire chip aisle. Today is April 07, 2025 it is 4:44pm I went in today to see some clearance items and I found an item that was not sure of the price and I nicely went to the front and asked for a price check in the lady said to me $4.75 you want to pay you want it 🙄.
