Furniture Solution — Local services in Bear

My wife and I were looking for a couch right before closing on our first home with Thanksgiving right around the corner. On our way to another store, on a whim, I decided to pull into the Furniture Solution parking lot to check out the furniture store from where I grew up but never ventured in to. I'm glad we did. To our surprise and delight we were greeted by the owners pet Portuguese Water Dog who made our kids feel right at home. We were astounded by the small town personal feel of the store you do not receive from other places in town. Our sales person Elena who was very knowledgable and down to Earth made us feel like family as we browsed the wonderful selections. It was a pleasure meeting Bob the owner. He made us some great offers, out beating any of the other stores in the area. Knowing the difficutly of moving into our first home right before the holidays, he not only gave us free delivery but a year of free financing. I was blown away. Further more he loaned us a fantastic temporary recliner two seat sofa until our custom couches arrived after Thanksgiving. We had plenty of seating then as we had many family members stop by to check out the new house. Our place felt like home thanks to Bob and his team. The delivery of our new sofas later was top notch. The delivery men were professional and helpful with moving my old couch in no time at all. My wife and I couldn't have had a better experience with F.S. This was my first time shopping for furniture. I was looking for a loveseat for my apartment. I went to a few apartment stores in New Castle to shop around, and I visited Furniture Solution at least twice before buying. Simply put, Furniture Solution has better prices than the name-brand furniture stores. The biggest downside is you might not find what you're looking for.

Every time I visited, I interacted with an employee named Elena. She was very nice and gave me space when I wanted it. She was selling hard on the Flexsteel couches, which only makes sense because it's the highest-end furniture in the store. She also provided very welcome input on color/fabric choices, which was appreciated.

I visited before and during Memorial Day and compared pricing. During the holiday's "50% off sale", most of the furniture was nearly doubled, so in reality the price difference was $30 less during the holiday ($490 vs. ~$520 for the loveseat). I'm sure other furniture stores are equally guilty, so I wouldn't fault Furniture Solution too much for this.

The delivery was easy (they deliver on Saturdays) and without any incidents. The delivery men communicated very well and ended up arriving early (after calling to confirm). They were polite and efficient.

I recently bought a bedroom set from here. After looking at several stores for a set including some big name stores, I settled on this store for several reasons. The bedroom set was similar in style, design, and craftsmanship to sets at other stores but at a much lower cost. Furthermore, I did not feel pressured into thinking if I didn't purchase that day, I would miss the "sale" for the set. I returned about a week later. I was told 2-3 weeks for delivery because they recently sold the last set in stock. It was also around the winter holiday season which can be hectic.

The first of two issues was with the delivery. I missed the store's phone call. My girlfriend called back twice that day and left a message with her number. I called back three times the following day and also left a message. After not hearing back from the store and hoping for a Saturday delivery, I stopped in the store on Friday after work. I was told that it was too late to schedule for the next day but we would be the first delivery the following Saturday (4 weeks).

The delivery team was on time, fast, and very professional. They did a great job carefully getting in large pieces of furniture without a single bump.

The other issue was with a drawer in the dresser. It was misaligned, not the stores fault. The drawer would get stuck when opening. I called and they sent out a technician about a week later to fix the drawer.
