I called ahead around 4:30 PM to see how busy it was since it was National Wing Day. A woman on the phone said it wasn’t busy, which was perfect—we expected a crowd later. When we arrived, it was indeed quiet, but things quickly went downhill from there.
We stood at the front for about 5 minutes before anyone came to seat us. After that, we waited another 15–20 minutes at our table before a man from behind the bar—Kurt—finally approached. He never introduced himself, didn’t greet us, and instead walked up huffing and puffing, saying, “Your waiter is busy, so I’ll start you off with a drink.” That was our first red flag.
We ordered two waters and a couple of drinks, which took another 20 minutes to arrive. When we asked about the National Wing Day deal, Kurt incorrectly told us it was “Buy One, Get One Half Off.” This didn’t sound right, since we had already checked the BWW website ourselves and saw the real promo was “Spend $10, Get 6 Free Wings.”
When we mentioned this to him, he gave us a condescending look, as if we were wrong or confused. He didn’t verify anything—we did the research, not him. We had to call him over multiple times (while watching him ignore us), and when he finally came back, he had a nasty attitude. I politely clarified the actual deal, and instead of accepting the correction, he got defensive and insisted he had offered us both deals (he did not).
At that point, I quietly asked another staff member if this was normal behavior. She confirmed that Kurt has a reputation for having an attitude, and another coworker backed her up. That speaks volumes.
Eventually, he told us, “I’ll still give you the 6 free wings,” but walked off like he was doing us a favor. And before the manager even came to speak with us, Kurt came back to our table, threw the receipt down, and said again, “I STILL gave you guys 6 free wings.” As if that was some kind of generous act? No—that was the actual promotion we were entitled to. It wasn’t a favor. It was what we expected. Maybe Kurt needs a therapist or a behavioral coach, because his hostility over chicken wings was truly uncalled for.
The drinks he brought out tasted like straight juice with no alcohol, which is unlike our usual experience at this location. His colleague even mentioned it to him, and Kurt responded by shouting across the bar, “Tell them to order a margarita if it’s not enough.”
We tried to calmly order another drink, but he stood nearby listening in, then walked off muttering, “I’m not about to beef with them.” Completely unprofessional. That was the final straw.
I asked for a manager, who came out and was visibly disturbed by Kurt’s behavior. She apologized and pulled him to the back for a conversation—but we could hear him yelling at her from the bar. It was that loud and aggressive. No employee should speak to their manager like that. When she returned, she apologized again and removed the bad drink from the bill, which Kurt had still tried to charge us for even though we had barely touched it.
Even after that, Kurt continued pacing the restaurant, making slick remarks under his breath, clearly trying to provoke us—over a $20 tab. If you’re that miserable at work, don’t take it out on your customers.
To top it all off, we saw three other tables walk out due to long wait times for food and drinks—and again, the place wasn’t even busy.
This was hands down the worst restaurant experience we’ve had in a long time. We’ve come to this BWW before and never had an issue, but after this? We will not be returning. The manager did what she could, but Kurt should not be anywhere near guests, let alone...
Read moreTonight we came to BWW to have dinner and watch the game. It was busy but we didn't have to wait for a table. We were seated just as the game started at 8:15pm. Our server didn't come by until sometime after 8:35pm (that was the last time I had checked my phone to see how long it had been). So 20min+ before anyone came over. He didn't even introduce himself just asked if we knew what we wanted. My bf had wings and a soda. He asked for ranch and extra celery with his order. I got the triple bacon cheeseburger. I asked for a cheese substitution since I don't like american cheese. He just said "yeah" and didn't tell me any cheese options. So I asked if they had provolone. He said probably and left to put our order in. Five minutes go by and he comes back and says they don't have provolone so I ask what they do have. He said American, Swiss, Mozzarella or (another one I don't remember). So I asked for the Mozzarella. He comes back 5 min after that and says they don't have Mozzarella so I told him to not put any cheese on it. We got our food brought out by a runner (not our server) and the runner asked if we needed anything. We asked for silverware since we didn't have any or napkins. I guess BWW just gives you plastic utensils and the thinnest napkin you can imagine wrapped in plastic (think the little silverware package you get when ordering takeout). We then turned our attention to the food. My burger was horrible. Not only was it dripping grease but the bacon strips were so completely burned to hell that they crumbled in my fingers when I went to pick them up. I took a couple bites of the burger and it was not good. So I stopped eating.. and I was so hungry at this point because we had been there for 45 minutes. My bf never got ranch or any celery. At that point our server ran by our table and quick dropped the "utensils" at our table without stopping and without saying a word. No asking how our food was at all. At that point I was so frustrated I went and sat in the car while my bf finished eating. Luckily he had the burger removed from the bill. My bf also said that the server still didn't check on him for a while after I left at which point he could finally tell him about the burger.
Very bad experience and would not recommend, even...
Read moreJuly 2025. Just ate there last night, probably the worst wings I've ever had, bad experience, so slow. The store was about 20% capacity, mostly empty. Ordered blue cheese, got ranch. Yuk. Correcting that took over 15 minutes, got it after everyone was done. Ordered unlimited app special, got charged twice. Asked for plates, never got plates until after wings were gone - not just the apps. It took 30 minutes for a margarita to arrive. It started to storm, DirectTV went out on every TV. What kind of store chooses DirecTV?
Ordered 30 wings. At least one wing was undercooked. We didn't eat all of them to see about others. I thought I'd go mild. The sweet BBQ sauce, the first one on the menu, was disgusting. Kind of like barf flavor. I couldn't even eat one of them, took a bite and spit it out. Teriyaki was ok. I ate five of those.
The waitress was super nice, but completely incompetent. After fixing the incorrect bill they also accepted an expired $10 coupon from another bww store. Probably also due to the incompetence. 3 ppl $70+tip
I said, if I never come back I'll be happy.
So many other choices. The Korean wing place by UDel is a great wing choice, as an example.
