Dollar General — Local services in Bedford

Absolutely terrible customer service. I watched the woman before me struggle with the self-checkout while the employee kept disappearing after telling her she didn't even know how to void out an item for her. Then it took 15 minutes to do the return I came in for, and I received it cash instead of loading it back on my card so I'm guessing she didn't know how to do that either.Then, when I finish shopping lo and behold there's no one there to remove the extra item thats been left still rung up at the self checkout from the last person, so when I have to call and ask for help I'm stuck standing there for another 5 minutes and then she gives me attitude saying "I understand it costs too much" when what I said was this isn't an item I even selected let alone rang up. Then she dissapears again leaving me stuck on a pay screen when I wasn't even finished ringing my items up yet(which I also mentioned I had only gotten two items in to ringing out before I noticed the extra item). Then on our way out my son let's out a cough (he has bronchitis from seasonal allergies) and she immediately pulls out like 20 sani wipes refuses to hand me one saying she'll wipe it down and when I laughed and said that was a lot of wipes, she snarkily responds, saying "yeah well its a sick baby" like we are just scum to her because he's got allergies, and I'm stupid for having him with me. I went to find a cat scooper... I got distracted by how much daily stuff they have. In general, they have everything you need to make breakfast, which includes the cooking equipment. All the things you need true out the day, and to get ready to go to bed. They also have some outdoor gardening equipment. I talked to the employee there at the time. I asked how often their fresh products get rotated? They said every week. I hope they understand I will check to make sure they do that. So, expect an update in a week or two. They are having a 5$ off if you spend more than 25$ on Sep 14 2024; they have those twice a month if I heard that right. Anyways I loved the first experience I had at dollargeneral, friendly staff, clean aisles, well stocked. Went to the store to get chips and a 1 dollar pepsie. Young man at counter always very nice and respectful. But, got in my car and noticed I had overpaid for the pop. Almost double. The shelf price had said 1 dollar but, I was charged 1.95. Went back in the store and young lady at the counter said the young man had just left. I was told the price went up a few days ago. I asked for a refund. I had my receipt, Young lady refused. Stated she didn't know how to give a refund. The other female employee said she would, but the young lady cut her off and said she didn't know how either. She insisted that I come back the next day and get the refund from their manager. I told her I live in akron, and wasn't going to come back the next day. Said she would call the cops if I didn't. I'm 70 y.o. She said I was just a cheap old woman. Never going in that...
